Ok well I made a post similar to this already elsewhere, but my problem has become a little bit different and I was wondering if anyone had any clues as to what is going on.
Ok I log on to TFC through All Seeing Eye and before entering a server it tells me what my ping is going to be in addition ot what my packet loss is. So I got log onto TV 1 last night with a ping of 42 and a pckt loss of 2%. Super I think everything should be fine and dandy.
Well then I jump in and evreything seems normal untill I go to grab a pack and it doesnt' actually pick up untill i'm I've already run over it and made it out of respawn... hmmm. I'm not stuttering at all and nothing is in the least choppy, but then I go to throw a grenade and I let the timer tick down on before it reaches two I see myself explode and the suicide sprite come up.
I tried to explain this as thoroughly as possible because I lacked the exact termage to describe it. Any ideas fellas?

Those symptoms are very much like what I suffer quite regularly... but if you're pining only 42 and 2% packet loss, I can't explain it. Were you having inopportune lag spikes? (maybe you just got extremely unlucky, and the 2% of the packets you lost were the ones saying "pick up pack" and "throw grenade"? |

I've that happen to me before Computer. Anything can really cause it, but I noticed it happened when an e-mail was being sent, something big was downloading, or if a lot of stuff was opening or running. My ping was fine, but when one of my parents or brother starts to do something like listed above-except for stuff running-I would lag out like crazy (Yes, this happens because my family uses a router and only has to pay for 1 internet connection, muahahaha).
Don't know if this helps any or not, but just so you know, your computer isn't just going insane. |

Well I finally contacted Charter that is who provides my connection. First off I have almost nothing running when I play I shut everything except for trillian down (www.trillian.cc) They said that they were having problems with packet loss in the county that I live in and that the issue should be resolved within a couple of days. Sure enough last night everythignw as back to normal, thank goodness, the last time that this happened I quit playing for like 6 months cause it took forever to fix and the lag was totally intolerable. _________________ "Don't be so humble - you are not that great."
