Yeah today I probably did the most 1337 thing any villen has done. (in a Goldom way)
I brought both the ville cup and ville main site to a crawl between 2:00pm and 3:00pm eastern until had to Reboot the server.
Below is a copy of the ICQ messages between me and Rob:
Quote: |
Rob:
Dude, what's up the ville server is running really, really slow and it looks like a perl script is running cpu at 100% process, did you do anything?
Ktulu:
Doh, I thought that might be happening I accidently wrote an endless loop but it's fixed now! just kill the process.
Rob:
(after a couple minutes of silence)
Damn I can't kill the process i'm going to have to reboot the server. (proof of my 1337 skillz, I brought the entire house down, I fragged everyone of you)
Ktulu:
OK, sorry.... let me know when it's rebooted
Ktulu:
(5 minutes later)
Did you reboot it yet?
Rob:
I have never seen the tempature of the cpu so high... 134 deg. So i'm letting it cool down
Ktulu:
hmmm.... cook an egg on it that'll cool it down
Rob:
(says nothing... obviously did not find my joke funny )
Rob:
OK, it's back up
Ktulu:
I'm really sorry that will never happen again
Rob:
No problem mistakes happen.

Crashing the server(s) should bring me some kind of daily award... I'm not so sure I want to wear it though.

LOL that was that good. I am glad you had the balls to post that. Any Network Admin has done that (pretty sure Gen Lee has also). Funny post. I recommend you do not do it again. We could see your stars at NooB.
BTW Ktulu when we were plying a few nights ago and the network I was working on was having issues, I left to look after awhile. I thought there was someone was giving the firewall issues...lol it was me. I miss wrote the code (on the router too) and really %^$&*#@ it up. I hate the fact I can be a moron. Thank god it was the middle of the night that there were issues and i could resolve it before anyhone saw lol oops

Actually one big hoax just last week I sent phpbb.com a bug that I found with some coding on how to get around it... mayby they tried my code?
Fear my 1337 skillz, formating harddrives is for noobs I like to melt cpu's into motherboards or better yet catch your hole freaking pc on fire with code I write.
Now that would be 1337....
"Dude, I loaded your program onto my pc and it burnt it to the ground"

LOL, this reminds me of a 1337 customer I once had in tech support... he had plugged in some new RAM while his PC was powered up... it actually welded itself in the socket
I still have the weld-wounded SIMM stick, too
