ATI All-In-WONDER Radeon 8500

64MB, delicious.

I only have a TNT2 32MB, but that is definitely the card I would buy if I had the money.

New Geforce4 128MB card if you've got the cash to throw around.

ASUS is a good company.

I do like my ATI, but since drivers from ATI suck I wont ever buy another card of thiers. It took me forever to find a driver that makes TFC look right. Thats the great thing about Nvidia, is thier driver support. Personally Id get the GF4 TI4400, or if ya wanna save some money get the TI4200 that should be out soon.

You are right about the ATI. I really liked the Radeon 8500LE but ran into a few problems with some games so I returned it and got the above.

The Geforce4 4200 that is coming out late April/early May is supposed to be the bomb. It is faster than the Geforce3s (and Radeons as their drivers are now), but the 64MB version should clock in at only ~$175 - very nice. Important to note, is that the 4200 is a REAL Geforce4 w/ all that directx 8, hardware T&L support and stuff. Great value.

Mine is the ATI Radeon 64ddr and even with everything set to max, and gibcount at 9999 is still get a steady 99fps. Most of these new fast cards are just way overkill for HL IMO. Unless you play different games, getting a GF3 of some sort will perform more than good enough IMO.

Gee, no wonder you guys own me! Mine is a 32MB TNT2 card, same as Snipe Shocker. I'm so old-school that it seems like overkill to get more than 35-40fps. Do you think that the higher framerate improves your play?

Ive set mine at 30 fps and really dont notice much of a difference, just that some times things seem to flow smoother at higher frames. Anything above 60 seems unnoticealbe to me.

I have an nvidia geforce2 ultra, I believe its 64... and I'm having freaky deja vu right now... I get about 70 fps in HL, and I would guess 30-40 in EQ w/ all new models.
