With an electric car you TOO can have a max speed of 60 mph and be the envy of all other drivers on the road!
C'mon, the gas/electric and electric motor will never catch on until you don't have to charge it very often and it can break 100 mph for more than 2 minutes without depleting its battery. |

No offence intended, YPAWOM, but you dont really know what you are talking about I dont think... like I said, we own one of these..
1. it NEVER needs charging. let me repeat NO CHARGING. no plug, no outlet, no... charging.
2. it has a hell of a lot of um.. the stuff that makes it go . it can go just as fast and steady as any other car on the road.
3. it is, get ready, TOTALLY SILENT. both inside and out... (no gas, no noise..), unless you accelerate quickly, at which point it turns on gas for a few seconds, and turns off again.
4. It recharges the battery, get ready for this, from THE FRICTION GENERATED FROM THE BRAKES. I am not kidding. And when this is not enough, it burns gas to charge, but it almost never does this.
5. (fun to note if you ever get the urge to blow shit up )
the internal battery has 200x more power than a normal car battery... in other words, if you try to jump another car with it... it will go BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
[edit] oh yeah and i forgot
6. It is rated a SULEV Vehicle... that is Super-Ultra-Low Emmissions Vehicle.. it comes with a sticker attached that says, "Exempt from emissions tests."
7. And, it COMES WITH a rear-window sticker, that says, "Eat my voltage."
[edit] so there.
and
8. It has a pretty little screen, that shows you average and current MPG, and a moniter showing energy and gas consumption and flow, as well as battery level (which it automatically charges though, just for your viewing pleasure It also had an option for a little map Gps thingy but we didnt get that cause for some reason my parents didnt think that a map was worth $1000. silly parents! )

Actually Goldom I know quite a bit about them, the true electric need charging, the gas electric get energy the way you already explained, thats why the gas is there. It DOES though take alot more energy the faster you go, they are definitly not sports cars or performance cars. If it's not that type of car why even bother with having a car
I like to hear the engine rev and feel the car rumble from the engine and the Gs when I accelerate, even the noise of the tires on the pavement. But what I'd really like is one of those Volantors when they come out. True flying car that's almost ready for commercial use, YES! 350+ PMH flight speed with a 900 mile range. Imagine what kinda fun that baby would be! http://www.moller.com/skycar/ |

well according a news article I read gas is going up but probably won't reach as high as it did last year... so for the sake of humanity... I'll hold out till it becomes an issue worth worrying about |

Gas in Las Vegas is around $1.55 a gallon or for 4 liters + or -. I actually considered one of the hybrid cars until I realized that the Honda only was a 2 seater. With a newborn child we needed something a little bit bigger so I broke down "tears rolling down my cheek" and bought a minivan for the wife to drive. The reason they are coming up with these concepts are because eventually the oil will runout. It seems endless now but it will happen. Electric is one of the only feesable answers they have come up with so far.

Kind of funny how the Muller car has no pictures of actual flight. Must not be ready yet.
I guess it boils down to, do "you" want to burn as much oil as "you" can or can you do things differently that burns less oil.
It is a personel choice at this point. But soon it will be forced on us.
It is quite possible to grow our Fuel. Then you would think we could all be driving what ever we like.

Again well said Roof. Personally I don't enjoy spending $40 a week to fill up so I can go fast. Transportation from point A to point B and that's it. Some people just want to do it quickly I guess.

Ethanol blends are always a good option... and hey, they help the economy around here, so USE THEM NOW!!!
the best cars are gonna be powered by fuel cells though, they'd suck in cold climates because they drop water as exhaust... could you imagine a nice interstate highway on a cold day... ouch. |
