Depending on the use of your computer an Intel chip might sometimes be a better solution. Now, I'm a big AMD fan, and these words are almost treason...but Intel still has the advantage in high end server/workstations and multiple processor systems. However, for most desktops AMD offers the best price/performance ratio. IMO that is...
