I only have been pierced once, and it took about 25 stiches to seal it up.
Does that count?

Okay, Roofie, that counts, if this counts...
My uncle was hammering and missed the nail. He hit his thimb. Of course, this left a huge blood blister under the nail. Anyone who knows about this kinda thing will tell you that it hurts like mad. The pressure can drive you crazy. Anyhoooo, my dad decided that he would relieve the pressure for my uncle.
WARNING!! It is never a good idea to use power tools when you have been drinking. /WARNING!!
So, (keep in mind that my uncle thought this was a good idea, too) my dad got out his drill... put the smallest bit he could find in it, and proceeded to drill through my uncle's nail. Well, when it broke through the nail, it, of course, gave... and well, it went into his finger just a bit. Ouch!

heehee I have hammer stories.
I was a fresh faced carpenter wannabe way back when. Since I'm a big guy I bought the BIGGEST hammer on the planet of course, It was a 36 oz frammer. We were framing up a barn and were just finishing up the 2nd floor deck. It was a beautiful california evening and the homeowner offered to get us some beer to enjoy the sunset. So here we are drinking a cs of beer enjoying the coming dark and we get the bright idea to see who can make the deepest hammer head impression in the knee high wall all around the perimiter of the barn where the roof is going to sit.
We start smacking it and my 36 is doing a pretty good job. But my friend just makes hits it so hard he really pulls ahead. So with a mighty drunken swing I let fly. I miss the top plate entirely and throw the hammer threw my big toe! It dosen't even hesitate it pops off my toe nail and pulverizes the toe, threw my leather boots.
It took year for the toe nail to return and I limped for a couple of weeks!
Hammer+drinking+bad ideas= brief fun and possible severe pain.

He he, my dad is one of those guys who only has a good project if he somehow injures himself in some way. He's cut his hand with a carbide tipped ceramic tile radial arm saw blade (long funny story to go with that one)
So my dad was cutting tile for the basement airlock from the garage in our old house (tuck under garage). He had finished up cutting a piece and was going to pull out the scrap, but the electric brake on the blade didn't and he sliced into the side of his hand. Realizing he had done this he grabs the wound with his other hand and goes inside to get my mom to take him to the emergency room.
My mom is partially deaf in one ear and was upstairs in the kitchen. My dad comes in and hollers up "Sandy, I need you!" She replies, "I love you too!". My dad realizes she didn't have a grasp of the current situation and so he yells again, "Sandy, I need you, I'm Bleeding all over the floor!". So my mom takes him to the hospital and when he is admitted the first thing the doctor has to comment on is my dad's t-shirt. It was a Home Improvement one that said "Who needs directions?" and now had blood all over the front of it.
Meanwhile, I got home from school to find an unattended saw with a blood trail from it into the house and back out to where my mom's van had been parked. I was a bit concerned seeing as how my dad was not the safest person when tools were concerned. But they soon came home and explained the whole mess and I laughed and helped my dad finish the cutting.

Notice the duality of this thread? Good stories, Roof and Snag! My dad is (was until he retired) a carpenter. I have done a bit of woodwork and house remodeling of my own. For you true carpenters, let me ask you... is there anything like the smell of freshly cut wood?

I have a personal policy with my body. If there isn't a hole in my skin naturally, who am I to put one there.
Plus I have a girlish-ly low pain tolerance (no offense women, I guess it would be better to say I have a WhyBkuul-ishly low pain tolerance )
