Does anyone know how to make multiple backups of different computers on the same harddrive?

We are currently using a seperate harddrive to make a copy of the clean install on each one of our computers.

Presently we can only put one backup on each harddrive.

As we approach 8 active computers this is getting to be a lot of harddrives.

We are using Drive to Drive to make the copies.

We have had problems with some of the other copy programs and none seem to write more than one os to a harddrive.

Any Ideas anyone?

there are many programs that can help you make copies.

Norton Ghost comes to mind right off.

Also, Maxblast or IBM's hard disk Installer programs offer copy options...and a real easy to use interphase.

Email me for a link if you want

At work we use Ghost to reimage our rental laptops, there is an image for each of the different models that we rent. It works pretty well, and is relatively easy to use.

Well if you have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5, They have this backup utility and they have this option where you can backup your entire hard drive on CD's. Yeah it may take along time but if you get it, Your going to need a fast CD burner

Silent where are you storing all the images?

You are talking about whiping all the previous renters info and leaving a blank computer with programs intact?

The images are stored on a server. When we check in the laptop, we usually only R-Dist it to clean up the image, but if it warrants it we use Ghost to Reimage the comp. Basically we hose the HD and build a completely new image, then we have to join the domain and then Rdist it.

We run 4 different types of PC laptops
Toshiba 1805
Toshiba 2800
Toshiba 2060
Compaq ?????? Who cares, it's an old Comcrap

Each of the models has its own specific image for the standard University software package.

Depending on the software you should be able to just run a backup through the network and save the images as different names. just map each PC to a different drive and then just back up that drive and give it a name so you cant tell the difference
