I'm just wondering, what should I have it set to? I have always had it on direct3d, and never bothered looking at it, but I changed it to opengl, and got amazing framerate, problem is I overflowed very quickly. What should I do?

Do you have an ATI video card? If you run OpenGL with it you'll have "overflow" error messages.
Try here: http://www.fileplanet.com/index.asp?section=0&file=69717
if you have Half-Life
and here:
http://www.fileplanet.com/index.asp?section=0&file=69715
if you have the CS retail.

fps_max "55"

That command stopped my flushing all by its lonesome.

Ah, I do have an ATI card. Thank you all. I'll try later with the patch.
