Since the tragedy of 9-11 I've tried to turn over a new leaf online and real life. TVB is doing well and I think it's serving it's purpose well of server unity. However some certain bast's have made this impossible.
Since last Thursday there has been a sharp increase in llama visits to the ville and I've tried to be understanding. Some may have been unintentionally ignorant of the rules. Point taken, and I've tried to inform of the rules since it happened to me when I started playing here. Almost every other server allows llama crap we don't tolerate here.
But...
NOTICE FROM FRAG: You llamas will not be tolerated you ****wits. I will not allow this server to crumble faster than Detroit did in the late 60's. This server will clean the crap the each llama drops on our server. I will not "discuss" the server rules more than once anymore. I will not "debate" with someone for 30 minutes about the designers real intent of how avanti or well was supposed to be played. To the creator of the map...thank you. We however can damn well please disallow respawn camping if we damn well please. It's our three servers and we play TPF's way. There are usually in excess of 1,000 and as high as 1,600 servers on TFC at anytime. Go play there. We've lost two regulars in the last week (Dgenr8 and Snakeyes.) Other regulars have logged in protest to the activity. So go flag hold, respawn camp, talk trash somewhere else or I'll ruin your precious config file as fast as you can say "oh poop." YOU WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND ALSO BITE ME BTW!
WARNING: Play Murderball as teamplay or you will suffer the same fate! That map is not a deathmatch. You have been warned.

Fragfailure pretty much has stated how I feel, the only problem is that the llamas dont visit this site and read the forums. The regulars are the only ones who come here and they all abide by the rules of the ville.
Perhaps we may get to the point where the banned id file actually only contains WON id's of people that are not llamas and that want to play here and respect the rules.

Personally I wish there would be an admin on everytime murderball is played. Since is only one map on a three map rotation you could just calculate when it comes on and have someone there. That way people wouldn't have to keep server hopping. |

You could lock down 1 or 2 of the servers with passwords and make them available to the regulars only. It would suck if it came to this but what other options are available? How could you police all the servers for Llamas any other way?

Unfortunately, if we do lock down the 2 servers or do some WONID manipulation that only includes regulars, that essentially blocks even the respectable players who are new to the ville from joining us. To have the community grow as it did over the last few months prob means keeping all our doors open.
I think llama issues will always be there and it's just something that we'll have to live with and "enjoy"... meaning that i do enjoy watching an Angry Frag running down a poor llama who doesn't know what's in it for him! ooorgle! |

Things have gotten bad lately,
When I joined TV1 last night and gave my usual "Hi all", all I got back from Frag was "welcome to llamaville"
I then watched him for 15 mins arguing back and forth with a Llama... The Admins do a great job for us and we have to remember that they would actually like to play the game to instead of baby sitting the servers. Locking the servers down is not the answer, educating the newbies and banning the people that know better is. Give people one clear warning that they understand, if they argue or do it again, then it should be bye bye Llama.
Ap.

My how the pendalum swings... You used to be a little quick to ban IMHO, now you were getting to slow to even kick. I try to stay with the happy medium...which is:
1) 1 explanation (We don't allow <fill in Llama activity> on this server)
1.5) If they ignore you slay them a few times (dozen maybe )
2) Warn Them ( This server has rules, and I enforce them)
3) Last warning ! (optional) (It isn't open for discussion, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !)
4) Kick
If they come back with attitude (or had it before) Hit them with appropriate punishment.
If they come back and do it again (read above)
Never waste time arguing with a Llama !! Simple rule, play our way or play somewhere else !!
There were tons of Llamas back when I started playing these servers. I think we have been spoiled lately.... hmmm, maybe they all heard a rumor that GREENBO wasn't here anymore
Sry Greebo, couldn't help myself...I promise to seek counseling for my compulsive behavior |

i think u all r right it is hard to just stop llamas from coming into the vile unless we had a llama detector (that would be so cool) but we dont so it is very hard to anything like that.

Can Llamas be kicked not just to their console but a web page?
If so you would not have to explain, just send them to rules page.
Or maybe, I've heard someone say after being kicked by Greebo that it said something with his name in it.
If so than you could kick with a message. something like go to "URL" before you can reenter game.
Than he can read the rules.
Here's another one maybe if you can leave a line of text on his console to go some where. He than has to enter a password from rules page to reenter.
If we can move Gernade bags around and have the Ville logos could we not have a list of rules for that game in the respawn areas?
I have no idea if this can be done cstone and greebo should. Something like a permenant logo spray.
Heres another line of thought we "non" admins can help also. When someone is causing problems we can be verbal immediatly and request him to straighten up. I mean nicly. Not calling names or anything like that to make the moment worse. I tracked down one llama on my own team who was respawn camping and stood in front of him chest to chest not leting him by while telling him we did not need him to cheat like that to win and to stop it. than I fired a couple of rockets at him to keep him off balance and he must of stopped because I didn't hear anymore respawn camper yells. The point is the offended team must not be the only ones yelling at these Llamas and the admins are not the only ones that can take action.
Maybe we TVB'rs need to change our group name to TLP=The Llama Patrol until we get these idiots out of here.

Yeah that's actually a really good Idea, Have a huge poster like at the theme parks about the rules. You can make it pop up really huge on their screen right? just like the little text messages that cycle. Whenever anyone joins have the Rules listed big and clear and in one syllable words so even the dumbest of them can understand.
Make the Ten Commandments of TheVille.org or something like that.

Actually sticking a poster somewhere of the rules is a damn good idea, might do that for breakout.
The story of the 10 commandments:
And Robert Spake unto Greebo, and said: "Goeth forth with these 2 tablets of stone, for they proclaim what thou must do to not be a llama on the ville"
And Greebo climbed down from the church (killing some people on the way) and got to command point 2, whereupon he lay the tablets of stone on the ground.
And Greebo thought unto himself "Bugger this for a lark, these things way a ton! I'll leave em here."
Once Greebo had gainst his breath, he bellowed forth, the 10 commandments of The ville:
1) Thou shalt not kill in respawn
2) Thou shalt not infect in respawn
3) Thou shalt respect thy fellow player
4) Thou shalt not take Robert's name in vain
5) Thou shalt not argue with an admin about respawn areas, lest thy wants a kick in the arse
6) Thou shalt not cheat
7) Thou shalt not curse and swear for no particular reason, for the little people need to be protected.
Thou shalt no complain about various classes
9) Thou shalt play murderball by the rules!
10) Thou shalt not insult and admin, for if thy doest, thy shall expect to receive an ac in the ass

Ya, I've noticed the rise on llamas. Today, 4 people must have entered respawn, but this one guy really stuck with it. But I wrote all about it in Nominations for Llama of the Week.

Greebo that is the absolute funniest and most to the point item we could ever hope to have posted. Serious enough to impress people and light enough not to put them on the defensive.I just hope it didn't take as long as your songs. LOL
That would go up nice but in murderball we need to spell out the rules and game theory.
