Ummm I have been wondering for a while now ... what is a roof cutter and whats the pay like ? heheh Also I would like to add... take a cold shower you all ! *Unwinds the garden hose*

Rata I've moved on from just roofcutting. I'm responsible for the entire structure now and real soon I'll get the whole house. Major step for me

These are 5+ million dollar homes so they are a little more complicated then the norm.

The local tracks all use trusses now. But most all customs still use conventional roof framing. A production roofcutter gets .45 to .65 cents a square foot. Some of these houses go 10,000 to 18,000 sq feet so you can do the math! Most run in the 4500 to 7500 range. A good roofcutter can get a complicated house done in a week or so. He can also work on multiple structures. Depending on the amount of cuts, pitch, overhang and structual timber involved.
Then if there is exposed tails he gets around a buck a cut to prepare them for the stackers. Corbal ends are 4.50 each and up depending on shape and cut count.

I know one Roofcutter who only works 8 months a year and pulls in 75,000 easy. He sails the rest of the time! I hate him! JK hes a good friend of mine. 45 single no strings and money....He works dawn to dark to get his sq footage. He is the best in my opinion here in Southern California. He is art in motion to watch.
But there are some others who do just as well.
I guess I have gone on to much! there is much more but I'll stop. I wish roofcutters had a forum!
