Halcyon, you might want to "re-think" your comment about British people... Don't you think you've caused enough trouble with your comments about HW without starting one over what nationality people are. As far as I can tell, people that have argued against you are from all over the world, to single out Brits is racist and asking for a whole can of whoopass to be unloaded upon you..

Halcyon do you know why the Ebola virus dosen't spread far? Because it kills so fast it never gets a chance to spread. People stamp it out. Quaraintine the infected.

"Ad hominem" means literally "against the man". Let's say Greebo were to make some assertion which I answered with "You're only saying that because you are Scottish" as though his being Scottish somehow negates the logic of his argument, that would be an "ad hominem" argument.

The idea is you should counter logic with logic. Attacking the person or their character does not in general negate the logic of their argument.
