That means you're having network connection problems and the server automatically dropping you due to timeout.

I know somebody said in another post that the max_fps setting doesn't affect the new netcode for Halflife. I was having alot of the flushes awhile back. That and trying to figure out the tremendous lag that me and my son had when were online playing at the same time, I changed both of our max_fps settings to 45. I may have only flushed once in the past month. Most of the time it was running in the high 70's before I did this. Coincidence? I am not sure. Sometimes, I think the connection may get swamped from high fps.

I had mine set to 30 or 35 when I was on dial up, it helped a ton.

fps has nothing to do with network connection. It deals with the video and the frames per second that are displayed to your screen. I consistently get a 100 fps no matter if i have a 5 ping or a 500 ping.

...Which still helps your connection out overall, and keeps you from getting cl_flushentitypacket errors. I lowered my fps, and I never got the error again with AOL.

Dahak, your bandwidth is trying to push the information to your computer to keep up with that fps. If it isn't getting the info fast enough, I think that is when the flushes happen. It does make a difference.
