swampy? Who the heck is swampy? Not a Ville regular it appears. Oh well, if he/she does not respond in the next week to this announcement or to me via email. The next runner up is SI:ship8. Also, not someone I am familiar with, but obviously with superlative Finger hunting skills. The third runner up is Bright Red Nipples. You can see from the stats that it is hard to tell the exact value comparing when I wasn't able to kill some folks even once. But swampy had 11 to my 1 and Ship8 had 7 to 0, while Nipples had 6 to 0.

So, I like to think this contest was a success and some support was drummed up for the Ville and for the Ville store. I know I had some fun this week hiding from my friends, although that part got old. I was even trying to talk differently. I changed my comm binds to say different things. And occasionally when I got a good kill on a regular I would say "Pwnage." like some punk kid. hehe

I also asked WTF when I went through the teleporter. That threw folks off my scent.

Since this contest has an official set of rules I have saved my stats in an Excel spreadsheet and an accounting team recently from Enron will be available to audit them, should anyone question the veracity of the contest results.

If anyone decides to do anything like this in future, I would recommend a goal that is more open than mine, but doesn't disrupt teamplay. It was hard to win when folks didn't know they were playing with me. And of course, ask the Mayor's permission first or risk ostracization from the community at large

Well, this whole thing cost me more than I originally intended. One because in order to go incognito, I had to buy a new copy of Half-Life. And the freakin thing was still $29.00 like it was when I bought it 2 years ago! But its just as well since I loaned my CD to a friend trying to get him hooked and he lost it. So I needed a new one anyway.

The other expense was, I saw that new Baseball shirt in the Store and am really liking that.

But yes, with a new CD of Half-Life you get a new Won ID. So I could put in any old name and there was no connection to my old stats or name. It was only later in the week that I started using my own name with the new -VS on the end. But I was really into playing the part of those other names. At one point with Eightball, I actually made some bragging statement about a teammate being safe because he was, "behind the Eightball."

talk about hokey! But no one figured me out, so it worked.

Anyway, I look forward to playing some DOD this week. I have been avoiding it all last week.

Last call for Swampy!!!!

Swampy, Swampy wherefore art thou swampy?

I have heard nothing, nada, zippo from swampy about winning the FingerDemon Must Die!! contest. So, it is looking like Ship8 from SI fame, will be the default winner. If not Bright Red Nipples is in third.

So, since I've been out of town all weekend, I will give Swampy til the end of the day today to contact me via email ICQ or in game or on forums. That's 5:00pm my time (EST).

And Ship8, it looks good for you, you might be able to start shopping soon. Curious George, if you know how to reach him, let him know he only has a week to get to me also.
