I am a victim to annoying pop-up ads and such that will find their way on to my computer. This wouldn't be a big deal (knowing that certain websites will bring these things up, plus I have a pop-up blocker) except for the fact that I will get these when I'm not browsing the web. Most of the time, they come on while I'm playing tfc or dod and I then have to close them manuelly, since my pop-up blocker can't block these ones. For those of you that have never actually pressed alt+tab aciddently or closed the game window while playing, when you get back in it there is no sound. Since I can't stand having to play with no sound (especially on tfc) I then have to quit the program and get back into it. Any ideas that could help me nlock these things so I didn't have to lose me sound?

Sounds like you have a program which is poping up these adds. This happens sometimes with free programs downloaded from the internet. I would suggest turning the programs off while playing half-life if this is the case. Can't think of any other reason pop ups would be popping up when not browsing.

Are you using gator or any web3000 programs? Commet cursor? They would all give you junk like that. There is a program to get rid of all of that stuff called "ad-aware". I got it from http://www.lavasoftusa.com, but that site likes to go down.

If you are, get rid of all of them! They do nothing but cause problems. I get calls at work about not being able to log in to stuff, and it's because Gator messed up their comp. Okay, rant over.

Don't get me started with Kazaa. I lost my mouse pointers several times because of some stupid kid putting a Trojan in a DMB song I downloaded. It took me a week to figure out which mp3 had crap tagged onto it.

No, I don't have any of that bad stuff installed

I have a spyware detecting program that allows me to delete spyware it finds on my computer

I have deleted EVERYTHING that had to do with cookies and such several times

Like I said before, I already have a pop-up blocker thing

And if I press escape and resume game, then TFC and DoD always freeze

Any other ideas? Hehe...
