I just saw on CNN that some woman in Fort Worth ran into a pedesterian who went thru her windshield. She than drove home and parked in her garage. Ignoring his pleas for help she let him die after several days from blood lose and trauma. She had some others get rid of the body and now that she has been caught she has confessed.

I've heard of ppl doing things like that but never quite that bad. Maybe like hitting someone and driving a mile before they stopped but geez thats just sad.

This is the part I find most disturbing:
"Mallard's attorney, Mike Heiskell, said: "I think this is overreaching on the part of the prosecution and the police and, in the end, I believe the law will shake out that this was simply a case of failure to stop and render aid." "
That makes me want to puke. It's bad enough she's trying to defend her actions, but how any lawer could do the same...wow.
{edit} Here is the entire story from CNN

Something like that is hard to imagine. And I can't believe lawyers can pull that trash. Note that people in Ft. Worth are like that! Must have been an outsider who moved from California or something |

I dunno about the people with no conscience thing, I find myself and a bunch of people with a sliver of a conscience, but rarely none. It can come in handy when you need to make efficient decisions. |

And the lady was a nurse, which means that she was suppose to stop and render aid. She may be brought up on holding the guy against his will and oh hell I can't remember the level of murder they are going to try to bring up on. But don't worry, hopefully the jury will not buy into the defense argurement. |

Actually jay walkers get off very easy in TX. nothing pisses me off more then somebody jay walking 20 feet from a crosswalk. Remember one time when I was driving down a busy street in my city when I see this lady with headphones on out walking on a side street. In the back of my mind I thought she better not walk out in front of me. Luckly she looked up at the right moment to relize where she was. Man you talk about giving me a heart attack. I should of sued that lady for causing me emotional stress. I don't think pedestrians think about how the drivers feel when they are walking close to a street or on the street or jay walking.
