Agree to disagree. I do have some words for Maian in closing since he started this on his Bush speech comment. You stuck your head out and made a completely out of line statement about his speech in a time of our country needing to be united. YOU called him a moron, no one else did on these boards. YOU alone opened this can of worms and now it's going to end. YOU are in the minority according to the opinions on this board and in Gallup's polls giving W. his 90% rating. Before you do a political spew here, think of others who strongly disagree with your opinions.

This is not the http://www.Hardocp.com soapbox where this is encouaged. There is no political message board here. This is TF'nC where we frag this @&#@ out of each other for fun. YOU by YOUR statements alone made this poilitcal by jumping on his speech.

Know this...

1- There is good and bad in every party. This isn't the WWF where the Dems are all good guys and Republicans are all evil.

2- Our people? WTF you mean by that? We are all Americans Maian. Don't segment this and start the (enter race here/american.) Doing that starts class envy/hate. We are all Americans.

3- This is a republic and you are 100% wrong thinking it is a democracy. Otherwise we'd be at the polls every week.

4- I don't feel superior to you Maian, but you just said you think I think that. I do think I'm right in my views, but I don't feel "superior" to you. You better retract that statement.

5- The reversal of parties took place before Lincoln took office.

6- The real power is the lobbies and it goes big in both parties. Nader said this and he's right.

7- Just because someone says "We care" doesn't in fact mean they do. Saying "We care" as liberals do and doing nothing still is doing nothing.

8- I defended Nixon in 1960 because it was the truth. I even implyed at the end "until later." This meant a direct refernce to Watergate.

Finally I'm the {TVB} recruiter and not the GOP recruiter Maian. The GOP doesn't pay me enough $$$!

Of course I know you are Scottish, but I was talking to another American about the USA. I am cognisent of the fact that this has people from many coutnries. Hell we even have some from Canada eh JD?

What Maian said about "Turning his back on OUR people." Americans do this. Instead of sayin I'm a Mexican/American (for example), say I am and American and damn proud of it. This enter your race here/American bs is stupid and devisive.

Maian CAN certainly have his opinion as can you having yours. However there will be people on the other side of the fence (currently 90%) who don't agree with him. If you say something to hit a nerve (in which Maian did hit a big one.) You will get the reaction gotten here. I wasn't the only one to post on his reactions to the speech. Did any one person agree with him and defend him? I didn't see anyone.

Personally, although I vehemently disagree with Maian, I will staunchly defend his right to express his opinion. I like this sort of thing once in a while. You're right, I may have went too far. I was caught up in my rage, hearing you guys say what a "great job" W. is doing. Im sorry, I just feel that Al Gore was a much better choice than this guy. Now wait, I know, Im starting the whole thing up again. But the word "democracy" is clearly stated in the constitution. And I may be wrong, but I think we can vote on who we want in office (sarcasm). Frag, or whoever did, thank you for locking the other topics. We do have to come together in this time of crisis, and believe me, I feel as bad, if not more than the rest of you. I just dont like W., and dont try to change my mind.

Thank you Greebo. You are a great friend. Now Im not saying that any of you are less of one. But I noticed that on these posts, I and maybe one more person were the only democrats here. And thats a whole lot of shit for me to take from you guys. I also thank those of you who remained neutral, and not adding fuel to this fire. And by my people, I did not mean Hispanics. I meant El Pasoans. We are a greatly democratic city, and our mayor was an elected democrat official. He betrayed us by kissing W.'s ass. That cabinet member, its like if he were raised in Israel, and became a Nazi. Im sorry, but that is the best analogy I could think of.

You're welcome Maian, I'm willing to defend just about anyone's right to an opinion, especially when that opinion is against majority.
You're still young, you have a lot to learn about presenting arguments and defending statements, it's just something you pick up over time. But you are learning as that post you just did shows

Are you implying your mayor has started building furnances and destroying everthing not aryan? Or maybe he's trying to get as much money from Washington as possible no matter whose in charge. Or that just cause he turned away from your clear beliefs he is now a monster.
Is Greebo a great friend cause he hasen't disagreed with you? Would you feel the same way if you two found a subject that you were both on opposite sides of...?

does not the people who post here do so cause they like it here and need friendship and support and fun and everthing else we experince here in the Ville. Has a great and trumatic event not just happened. No one here was alive in WW2 or Korean (maybe some) and only a few of us during Vietnam. Are not most of you of draft age? Well I for one was scared shitless. not the run away and hide kind but the Oh my god so many people are dead and so many more are going to die.
I for one did not want to hear any shit as some of you might also have felt. Greebo pissed me off so bad I ended up erasing all my posts. As far as Maian goes he didn't piss me of just his ignorance about the American constitution was annoying.(not that I'm a scholar) His feeling for the democratic party is his views I don't care. His Bush bashing was.. ,well I bashed Clinton often enough. (I got to say I got to like him near the end).
The crux of this post is I like it here and you are all a bunch of great guys and even if I was mad it was not at any of you per say it was just the timing. I hope we contiune to post about various(hopefully not as eventful) things not only TFC.
