Where have all the good old regs gone?

I don't know if you would consider me a regular from way back when. I do remember playing against all the people you mentioned from back in those days, everyday. Yes, I do miss those guys also. The skill level was top notch. I would also miss some

of the newer people if they left too. It seems to be more of a laid back enviroment now. There are many very skilled players that most of the old players wouldn't even know of. I could mention a few, but everybody knows who they are. They are damn good players. After recently seeing what the server operators do, I understand now that they are doing what they can to make this place a better place. They want The Ville to succeed. They want players to stay. I am not sure why alot of regulars left. Was it because the stats were taken away? Was it because of some of the posts you see in the forum? Was it something a little more personal? I have played on the [BR] server a few times and my son has played there quite often "until Rob put DOD on TVII". The only [BR] member I saw those times I did make it to the [BR] server was Dgener8. Last night I went there and the server was full, but there were no [BR] members at all. I was hoping to see you guys. I still haven't made it to the <PWG> server, but I am sure I will. Hopefully you guys will wander back for a round or two. It is still a great place to play.

Well for anyone interested, here is our map rotation. Dusk comes up after flagrun. Very fun map. DOWNLOAD IT! Oh and scouts and snipers are restricted to 1 each so the defense won't have too much of an advantage. This restriction is only for dusk. Also, don't forget to download the Avanti updates so you don't have to d/l them in-game. Just unzip to your half-life directory and all the files should go where they need to go.

Is it just me or is it rude to promote your server on another servers forum. Personally I think thats pretty weak even if you used to be a regular here.

[edited part]I guess what bothers me about this is the slandering of TV. I guess thats what bugged me about the whole post and prior posts that I've seen.

lol.. well you didn't refer specificly to anybody's post, but since your post directly followed mine and referenced my topic... well, it didn't take much to get me thinking you were directing your comment to me.

Anyhow, it's just a miscomunication. And to answer your question, I guess its up to the server admins to decide if posting IPs of other servers is rude or not.

Excuse me blown, but PWG is a large part of the ville's history. They have just as much of a right to provide an ip for their server as you do to provide a link to your webpage. Maybe I'm still living in the past, but I think of the PWG boys like brothers, even if many of them don't stop by anymore. I don't get over to their server nearly enough. I doubt any of them even remember me.

Ktulu, I was just answering the question "where/why have some folks gone?" I certainly didnt mean any harm to anyone specificaly. I didn't even say if the change was good or bad. TheVille has gotten bigger and better since the old days from what I have heard and witnessed. It's not just a little town with a dirt road anymore. It's a city with highways!

As far as PWG or BR placing their IP's in a post, it shouldn't bother anyone. They have permanent links set up here anyway! Just try to do it without an underlying (theville isn't that good anymore) tone.

Our server can beat up your server!

cstone, i've played with you allot and have had allot of fun. I don't want to start any flames, I really do respect you and wish you well with your new server.
It just hit my funny when I read your post, I guess the new admin privledges have made me even more protective of TheVille.
