Right now I'm going on my 37th hour without sleep, and tonight isn't looking so good. Mid-Terms can really screw someone up. I was wondering what everyone's longest time without sleep is. Has anyone gone past 48?

Since so many here are impressionable I will say I have gone past 48 but I won't say why or how. Just that it had nothing to do with school. Those were the old days. Sleep is good. You need sleep. Try and sleep Chen or your mind will become mush.

Hmmm, well there were a few party weekends in previous years where the only sleep I got was after passing out... and I once drove for 28 hours... but nope, I don't think I've ever stayed awake for 2 days.

Who needs rest, I gotta study and still have time for The Ville. The longest I ever went was around 50 hours. I had a huge program due the Friday before spring break...Man I'm glad I'm not a CS major anymore.

Who needs rest? I DO! I'm only six hours away from hitting 48. I have three major projects due this week, and I have one completed. My grade is something I value, and I'm trying to do my best. Which in return deprives me of sleep. Man the payoffs had better be great. I have even started learning to write with my left hand because my right is hurting so bad. At least I don't have to worry about falling asleep at the wheel, my car has real jolty spasms when it is cold.

hey i know you were only joking about falling asleep behind the wheel. but i just want to say to watch out because i thought i could push it and drive home when i was tired as hell after like 2 hours of sleep in 2 days. well i was wrong and i ended up getting in a wreck...its kind of funny i just fell asleep when i was slowing down to stop at a light and hit the car in front. i was only like 1 mile from my house too. cost me nearly 2000 dollars to fix, not that bad of a wreck but the trucks bumper hit my car in just the right spot to do the most damage possible i think

anyhow thru all that rambling my point is just be careful and dont push yourself too hard.

Well, seeing as you don't get that much homework in Year 9 ( compared to Uni ) I think the longest I have ever been without sleep is about...18 - 20 hours.

Avoiding sleep = cheaper alternative to getting drunk.

I once went without sleep for about 40 hours. After about 20-30 hours (this is without any sugar, coffee or any other foreign substance that helps keep people awake) you go into a semi-conscious state. You can think but only at a diminished level. (since I already think at a diminished level, this made me uber-stupid ) You feel like you are in a daze, you have trouble concentrating on what other people say. You have trouble making sense while talking, your vision gets blurry, and every sound seems to echo. Almost everything, anyone says sounds funny. Someone just has to say "sup, man!" and you crack up laughing.

It's really fun! you should all try it one day!

You can stay awake as long as you want IF YOU ARE REALLY SCARED. Combat situations will do that to you. Of course in MY day they gave you drugs to do it as well.

Of course, after a certain amount of time without sleep you will die...
