More Problems, Please help! Anyone!

I finally got DoD to work ( You legend linktodeath!!!! ) and so I tried to join a few DoD servers, but all the time, it just quit and said : Your .dll [ cl_dllslclient.dll] differs from the server.

So I said to myself, I'll create my own game, see what the game is like, but when I clicked on Create Game, there weren't ANY maps at all!!

**SIGH**

Please!! Someone feel really sorry for me and help me out!!

I really don't have this game (DoD), but it sounds like you need to download the news "Patches"....

Even if you just got done downloading the game, that doesn,'t mean you have the latest patches.

"But I could be wrong", I had the same problem on Counter-Strike......

If this is the case, just download any patch, upload it and it should tell you witch one you need..... This has happen to me!!

Omega, since I own Half-Life itself I cant really help you. what I do suggest is that you go to http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com and go to the message board for help. another option would be to uninstall Counter-Strike and reinstall it to the default directory (in other words just click next all the way through the installation without changing the directory) then go install DOD again to the default directory and change your shortcuts to go to CS.EXE, that way you know you have everything installed in the right place. if not hopefully someone who is playing this with the CS version and has gotten it to work can help you also. if your going that route and have broadband id also redownload the DOD install again in case yours is corrupted from your last download. Hopefully one of these ideas help so youll stop spamming the forums with "I really want to play this game but I cant" lol J/K and good luck

I have cs like you and mine works so i would suggest reinstalling it in the default folder. Also make sure you have the latest version of DoD which is 2.0. If it still doesn't work I'd have to say to forget about playing DoD. NO not really instead go to http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com and put a post there to see if they can help you out.

Here is an update :

I reinstalled DoD and changed the Target to cs.exe, and I clicked on it.

I ried to play DoD, but it said that I didn't have it installed.

So I clicked on Custom Game and DoD wasn't there.

And then apparently, for some unknown reason, it said I was playing Half - Life, and I don't even have HL!!!

So, I am clueless.

I'm gonna go check out the forums at www.dayofdefeatmod.com and see if it works.

If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me, because I really need help. Thanks!

You need to change the target to cstrike.exe. This is mine :

C:SierraCounter-Strikecstrike.exe -console -game dod -heapsize 256000

You should just copy mine if you installed it in the default folder.

Oops my bad on the CS.EXE, like I said I dont have counterstrike so I wasnt sure the name exactly, but like he said ill bet that works for you.

It sounds like a great game, but this is taking way to much time!

I deleted everything!

I am so sick to death of it already, and I haven't even played it yet!

Sorry for your trouble on this Omega, but I have one more possible suggestion for you. It is the biggest pain in the butt, but it helped me a while back. I was having all kinds of weird problems with CS and TFC, so I just copied all my saved games and config files and maps. And uninstalled the whole shooting match. Then reinstalled a fresh copy from CD and downloaded and installed full patch upgrades from new install to current. This helped remove a bunch of problems for me. Sometimes files used by the game get corrupted when the system crashes and from then on they can cause occasional trouble. Reinstalling gives you fresh copies of all those files.

Its not guaranteed to work, but I thought I would mention it to you.

You might also try to over write your existing install. I have done that before and it has fixed some problems. You won't lose everthing also. Keep trying OmegaSin we are waiting for you!

You could just reinstall DOD and that stuff and it may just be a corupption in the download redownload it and then reinstall. Just might work. hope this helps
