custom maps

hey where do i download the custom maps to? like what folder

It depends on where you got them. Some have their own installer that you run to install all the files, and some are in a zip file. Usually you just unpack them to the Steam/SteamApps/account/Day of Defeat/dod folder.

ok...this is extremely irritating for me because i dled maps to both

Steam/SteamApps/EMAIL/DayofDefeat/dod

Steam/SteamApps/EMAIL/DayofDefeat/dod/maps

Steam/SteamApps/account/DayofDefeat/dod/maps

Steam/SteamApps/account/DayofDefeat/dod/my maps

Steam/SteamApps/account/DayofDefeat/dod

and none of them worked!!!...>.< i h8 being computer retarted...could someone plz help me?

also the maps that r being dled r .exe and not .bsp...does that matter?

email and account is supposed to be replaced with your steam accounts name

Run the exe by double-clicking and read the page with instructions that will appear.

The main thing is that the .bsp file goes here:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\L33T n00b\day of defeat\dod\maps

There may or may not be accompanying sound files and models etc that will need to go into their appropriate folders.

Here's an example of how to unzip propaganda4 wich has the extra files I'm talking about

Once you've opened the file you'll be looking at a folder named dod. The proper folder/file structure is already inside the dod folder. So for this one just extract to:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\L33T n00b\day of defeat\dod

The pre-loaded folder/file structure should put all the right files in the right places. Like I said Just make sure the bsp file is in the dod/maps folder, even if you have to dl the other stuff it'll only take half the time.

For the self-installing map packs, like this one

click here to dl the example file

point them here:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\L33T n00b\day of defeat\dod

should work the same.
