The Ville admins all want the same thing: a friendly, clean fun gaming environment.

14 FPS? Are you sure your computer didn't explode 14 times per second? |
It was kind of playable. It got down to 14fps whenever there was any heavy graphic stuff going on such as the beautiful water effect on the beach in Anzio.
But most of the time it sat around 20-25fps. All the eye candy was turned off (not by my choice I hasten to add) e.g. the grass waving gently!
So if I could play on a P4 1.3 system with a crappy graphics, card, then anyone can!
(Now my new computer runs 125fps on the same section of beach! ) _________________

For people that showed up LAST NIGHT on the "ville regulars" DoD Source - we had a great time.
Hammer came in late and I had to go, but the rest of us and Stevo had a great time. :hb: |

Well I still hope you meant 1.3 GHz not 1.3 MHz. _________________

Whoops...my mistake....
Sorry...I did mean 1.3 GHz
However, I do remember gaming on a 1 MHz machine.....! My ol' Acorn Atom with its 12kB of RAM.... And then upgrading to the BBC Micro with it's 32 kB of RAM.....playing Elite.....now there was a game! _________________

That's insane
I had a commadore 64, I remember loading 6 floppies and typing in a bunch a stuff to make the round-ish ball move around in a pattern. Maybe that's why I'm so stoked on computers today!
My computer runs source at like 70-80 fps. But thats cuz I threw a bunch a money into it. Oh well, I like it
I say we should for sure do a source fun night next! I'll see what I can do _________________ =(M)-(M)= Mal n the m00bs - TVC 06 finalists

And prior to floppies, was the cassette drive....
You had to rewind the tape to the begining , type
LOAD "ELITE"
and wait 30 minutes for it to load into the machine......ah those were the days. Oh and sometimes you got a crc error....and you had to rewind the tape back a bit and replay to keep loading the program....
Buuuutttt we're off topic again.
So, is a Source fun night a go? _________________
