Also one night we had a snipe off on risk, We had a lot of fun with that.

We had a mini one last night! l3eeron, Compton and me had a blast! More people would be hilarious! New game - one person is in no-clip mode and tries to kill the others (who of course can't kill him!) - scary as heck running around waiting for l3eeron to suddenly appear beside you with a shovel!
And with FF, mistakes do happen so people panic and shoot others in their team *ahem* Compton *ahem*
So a Source fun night would be just awesome!

I can't play anything right now. 
stupid power supply is dying, i think. (the fans make a god-awful racket after a few minutes of running) and it's barely 2 years old.

Corrected for accuracy. Source is very popular outside the ville. I admin on a server that is the second most popular in the world with DODS.
As for why it is not popular here, many reasons, mostly due to server location (not a very optimized server as most get a lot of choke and higher pings than they should), crappy map rotation, lack of good stats, and limited admins that are all on diffrent pages as to what the ville allows and the ville considers bad.

You make it sound like source is huge and everyone is playing it.
It still has trouble putting out more numbers than regular DOD and it’s a seven-year-old mod.
The game is a lot of fun and more people should try it and stick with it for a couple of days before passing judgment. If anything it’s a great change of pace from 1.3.
If you join the server at noon and play with the lunchtime crew you will have a great time regardless if you think source sucks.

I play on PAF! and TV1 and I don't notice any choke/ping issues. Actually TV1 is better.
As for the map rotation...it's similar to loads of other servers....what did you have in mind?
Admins all on different pages??? I have never met a more unified bunch of people who are all on the same page. The Ville admins all want the same thing: a friendly, clean fun gaming environment.
Some of the more "popular" servers out there are popular at the cost of clean....
One of the many complaints that people have about DoD:S is that it requires a pretty good puter/graphics card. They try it, and as Squirrel says, don't give it a fair chance, expecting it to be the same as 1.3.
I learned to play DoD:S on a P4 1.3MHz with 256Mb RAM on an nVidia GeForce MX200....14fps...but I still had fun!
Perhaps if more Ville regs gave Source a chance it would become what TV3 is now!
