|
|
I have a buddy who just picked up Counterstrike: Source and Dod: Source. After he installed, his server screen only shows one or two available games to join. However, he can find me on his friends list and join the same game I play. Anyone ever heard or seen this happen before or know how to fix it? I've already tried turning off his Windows personal firewall and his Norton's Firewall. I've also tried deleting certain files in his steam folder (suggested by the tech page) and reloaded them and that didn't work at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance! |

Make sure there aren't any filters enabled and you are on the Internet tab.
Also, if you are using a router with a firewall, make sure these ports are open:
UDP 1200
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27030 to 27039 inclusive _________________

I will check this out. When he did the config utility on the tech support page, it showed that the ports portion passed, but i will check it anyway. Thanks Stevo |

Just an update on this..............
Turns out the probelm was the router he was using. He opened all ports and could not get the server list to update. But once he removed the router and went straight from the modem, it updated normally.
Thanks to all that gave advice and helped on this! |

All I know it was a Linksys. It was my buddy tdo5gsx ( you may have seen him here and there on the Ville DOD Source server) |
