So much division, and strong emotions around this. Why so much Valve hatred lately they have given the Ville everything it has been built upon. If the Ville community stays so hostile against source based games it will eventually fade away like the first tfc has. For the health, and future of the Ville give it a chance.

Exactly. Its all about game play too.
Look at world of warcraft guys. Cartoonish style graphics. Oh yeah it also has 8 million players. Maybe they are taking a page from Blizzard. Wouldnt be a bad idea. Gabe Newell from Valve did say it was the game to beat last year in an interview.

I think this was well said. I also believe most people will give it a chance, but we all have our expectations of what it should be. I hope it does come down to server side settings, so that we can throw up multiple servers configured differently.
The Ville is giving it all a try and the new TFC or FF will be no different. I think adding CS:S was a big step in trying new source based games. Time at home prevents me from playing, so I don't know how well it is doing, but I imagine it is bringing people in.

Well, not to be adding fuel to the fire or anything but it seems in a rush to beat Team Fortress 2 out the door, Fortress Forever will be releasing a beta the first week of August.
I'm not gonna lie to ya, can't wait, been following this one for a lllooonnnnggg time.
