				| OK, so I'm going for the whole 9 yards here. I'm gonna get a whole new tower. These are my criteria:
 AMD 64 4000+
 mobo with/pci-e slot
 A graphics card like this:

 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2231778&CatId=0

100 gig hd (give or take, doesn't matter)
4 gigs of ram (But 2 would do fine)
 dvd/rw
 Windows xp

I've got quotes that are all over the place. Some are outrageous, some are so cheap I don't trust I'm getting quoted on the right stuff. Who can I trust, I need help guys!

Just so you guys know, This machine will only have games and essential programs. I will never surf the web or email from it. I will be watching DVDs on it tho.

Then, I'm gonna need a kick ass monitor to be able to display all this power properly!

				| the cpu is fine
for a mobo i would go with asus, good solid mobo
a basic one if you don't really need to overclock is the ASUS A8N-E assuming your cpu is using socket 939, it might use Socket AM2, so plz provide information about that

yes that is the best video card that is out right now, and evga is a good brand, offers life time warrenty and step up options and has good customer support

2 Gb of ram is really all you need Kingston Hyper-X or OZC Platinum is the best you can get

WD Caviar SE16 SATA 2 is a very good fast and cheap HD 250 GB of space

the best dvd burner is probably the Pioneer 111D

and for a monitor, im not sure, i dont really care for monitors, but im pretty sure the best brand is either Viewsonic or :Hansol

make sure you get a non cheap PSU, cause that can kill your system. OCZ makes a pretty good PSU, well they don't make them they rebrand them from another PSU company but they are most trusted as well. i would suggest at minimum 500W, to be safe 600W i would say

that is similiar to my system, i could probably get all those parts, and a pc case for probably around 2300 CND, so you should pay no more then about 2050 USD

 hope i helped

I thought it was High Dynamic Range, meaning that the lighting changes as you move from different light levels to simulate the effect of your eyes adjusting.

Oh, and hey Rob. Was that you on TV1 yesterday?

Stevo is right, its High Dynamic Range lighting.

oh and, dont go with socket 939 AMD boards, AMD just cancelled all production on them. go with either AM2 socket or wait for AM3 this fall. AM2 is compatible though, if you get an AM2 board, you can put an AM3 chip in it. like this one:

				| I haven't heard of AM3 before mujo, do you have any link to info about it?
Intel officially release thier Core 2 Duo line of processors today, which will kick AM2's ass. They're technically release, but they're not being sold anywhere yet, I've heard in a few weeks they'll start hitting stores. AMD is also gonna have some massive price drops when core 2 duo ships become available. For comarison, the $319 core 2 duo is eqaul to (possibly better) then the AM2 FX-62.
