I bet you never saw it coming! Here's another Ville Cup video for you to see.
This video is less about the competition and more about cool looking explosions and melee. I tried to make this video as different as possible than the other videos. I'm not going to go into much detail, so just see for yourself.
I tried to balance filesize with quality. I used the Windows Media 9 codec, so it should play in Windows Media Player or most other media players.
Anyway, here's the link: http://www.hlcdb.net/tvc/js_tvc06.zip (234MB)
Enjoy! _________________

In case anyone is interested, here are the tools I used:
DoD console: I used the viewdemo and startmovie commands to capture all the footage. I also made a few scripts that make it easy to navigate and record demos using a few key binds. I included it with the movie in case someone else wants to use it.
VirtualDub: Used to compile all of the bitmaps created using startmovie into avi files. I left them uncompressed to use in another editing program. These took up about 40GB, so make sure you have a lot of space if you want to make a movie. http://www.virtualdub.org/
Adobe Premier: Used for combining video clips and editing the final product, adding audio and titles. http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/
Adobe Photoshop: Used for editing still images. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/
Windows Media Encoder: After using Premier, I exported it as an uncompressed avi (14.5GB), and then encoded it into a wmv (236MB). I tried different compression methods like DivX, but Windows Media seemed to produce the best results. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/
The whole thing took me about a week to make. Watching all the demos and recording events is the most time consuming part. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone else who is interesting in making a movie. _________________
