Headphones

ok, so I've been looking for some good headphones that are around $100. I'm going to be using them mainly with my ipod and I'll also mainly be listening to metal.

So far these look pretty good:

I've still got alot more reviews to read, but they seem pretty good to me. Has anyone used these or anyone have any sugestions for other headphones? Please don't post headsets.

I use Sony MDR-7506 Professional stuido headphones for DJing and Record mastering. The cost me $100 and are worth every penny

Get anything Sennheiser and you simply cannot go wrong.

I am also a DJ and recording engineer/editor/producer... I use Pioneer HDJ-1000's but I think they are like $159 still.

For my iPOD, I use Sony earbuds. I would highly recommend using any kind of earbuds over headphones for portable listening, especially an ipod.

I've heard Shure's earbuds rock like nothing ever before.

those poineer headphones look like DJ headphones which probably aren't good for portables or the type of music I'm going to be listening to.

I'll have to look in to those sony's. They're studio headphones so i don't know if they work well with portables either. They have a 1/8" connecter so they might.

earbuds are uncomfortable for me so those are out of the question.

the problem with reading reviews for audio equipment is that the audiophiles who review them complain about the littlest things.

I have used my sony's on my laptop, MP3 player, V-Drums, etc and they are good all the way around. Fry's have them where you can teat them out if need... I believe.

i just use speakers for everything.

That way i can hear it and everyone around me is forced to as well.

i got these for christmas

and they seem to work welll, the noise cancelling is a pretty nice feature to ahve especially at work with all the stupid radio stuff and whatnot going on around me.

I'm thinking I'm gonna go with the sennheisers because they have the advantage of the open back design. The detachable cord is also a plus.
