Custom Map night was a failure IMHO

Well, I hope I didn't add to the trouble. I kept having connection problems. I thought it was my ISP, but then my whole system locked up so maybe it was my PC. I eventually just gave up and left. Never did figure out where those magic keys went. :-|

Anyway, I hope you are able to have them in future. And to whoever said they wished they could download them first. You can! Look in the files area. I downloaded all of them first.

JD was a tad bitchy last night. Perhaps he will try again.

The server did get a PW, but I removed it when I left.

NTF is not something that I can turn on or off easily, but I will see if there is a way to do that for future events.

Glad some of you had a good time, perhaps I just need to lighten up.

Sorry to have missed it! Thom has been up to his neck in personal drama lately, so TFC has been taking a backseat. But ph33r my vengeance, phools.

Hang in there, JD. There will always be killjoys wandering in to try and spoil our fun, but they never last. And when the smoke clears, there are always a few cool new regulars left behind.

Some suggestions for future custom map nights:

1) Schedule them as far ahead of time as possible, and announce them everywhere possible so the regs are aware. The ideal thing would be to have a regularly scheduled custom map night.

2) Passwords. All the time. No exceptions.

3) Kill downloads so the regs can get in. We know to get the maps ahead of time.

4) Fewer new maps at a time. Maybe even ONE map per night. Very few of us have the time to learn four new maps ahead of time. That's too much like *gasp* homework! That also gives peeps the freedom to wander in whenever is most convenient for them.

More freedom for the admins, too. You see JD struggling to divide time between adminning and having fun with the clock ticking. If the map will be up for hours, there's no hurry.

I liked it!!! We all made a little club and stuff we hung out at the outpost dance spot and danced under the lighting flashes and listing to SANDSTORM. The snark pit had a spot to dance in with music. If you get the crack you can go to the bar and serve people drinks. Dude Breakfastonia is the best!

Don't be so hard on your self JD. I bailed cause I didn't practice the maps before hand and it just wasn't fun when you don't know whats going on. Sorry if I said anything bad about it.
