Gmod was never a mod in the literal timer. Gmod liscened the source engine from the beginning.

well i saw that, but you can still download 9.1 and all the others from the gmod website.

i suggest you do it now just in case there is any truth to that. I scoured the website and it mentioned nothing as to it being sold or having it cost money.
