I started playing TFC back when I bought the Game of the Year edition of Half-Life and I only stopped playing because everyone else did. 
That being said, CS is far more frustrating and less rewarding than DoD. |

I'm saying that if it were better than these games, it wouldn't have lost players to them entirely.
I still say it's great, just not the BEST.

Agreed. I still play TFC very regularly, the pubs are dead, league play is still in full swing. I still get very much enjoyment out of it. I've never really gotten into DOD/CS, i think mainly cuz i don't know anyone in the game.

CS would be a fun game...if...it weren't for the "l33t" a**holes that play it and can't keep there mouths shut. I played in a squad/clan for awhile in that, and that is the reason we left that game cause the people in it suck.
We played in CS/ Cal and DOD/ Cal, and it was two different worlds. I will say that some of the clans in DOD/Cal think too much of themselves too and forget this is just a game and were all trying to have fun.
THey may think there hot sh*t, but try and take those skills to the bank and cash it in

same, I must have been 7 or 8 back then. I played it whenever my brother wasn't because it was his game. Then he got his own comp which was passworded so i couldn't go on. I bought another copy of the game, but I had 56k back then so I always got disconnected when trying to download the 100meg patch. so i bought rainbow six: rogue spear which was a good game i played for a while then got r6: raven sheild and played that until I got cable. I finally started playing TFC again and randomly joined Osiris' server and the rest went from there  I still remember the first time I joined that server. I miss the old WON TFC menu, that was sweet.
Just an off topic post of my TFC history.
also, CS can be fun if you find the right server. My friend from school is in a clan that's good, but also very friendly. When I play on their server, I never encounter any of the usual annoying asshats from cs and i actually ...have fun.

Yeah, I made friends with a clan like that when I started playing. My experience was generally enjoyable until they broke up.

Haha, I started off with a 56k modem too. Back then, 300 ping was about average for me, and I still did pretty well  |
