After all this time I still dont understand how our point system works, I've read how its supost to work. But I seem to do pretty good every map, ratio and caps are really good but in my stats it always shows me as having low points. Can someone help meh out. cheers all.

Well, looking at the formula you won't get many points if you're a person that rushes a lot and gets most of your kills via spamming nades. I don't recall you as someone that really fits that mold. So, i'm not sure why your points wouldn't increase much.
But, if you snipe a lot and have a good kill/death ration with it then you can gain points fast like that. With sniping you can have a really good kill/death ratio and the weapon modifier for sniping is higher than most weapons at 1.5. So, someone that snipes most of the time will be higher on the list.
Which I don't think is a fair assessment of skill imo. I think the weapon modifier for sniping should be 1.0 or maybe 1.1. It's fairly easy to sit back in the comfort of a sniper loft picking off people.
Perhaps more weight needs to be applied to objectives/control points/areas captured.
I guess, just stop letting noobs knife you. You'll lose a lot of points like that |

yeah i agree that the points seem to be tallied in an odd way. i know that one factor is the skill of the person that you kill. if memory serves me, that's actually one of the things that is weighted the most. or it could just be all screwed up |

not sure if the weapons modifiers are the same in 1.3 as source, but if you get lots of kills with an mg, you don't get lots of points in source. Sniping gets you lots of points and flag capping too.
Also, right now in source, the higher you get in the ranking, the more points you lose when you get killed! It is very hard to keep your score from falling every time you log in when you are high in the stats. _________________ Have a knife day! |

I assume the points are tabulated the same way in 1.3 as source. I stay at least in the top 5 and mostly use assault weapons. I get my points from capping, and pulling out the shovel to get a 3x modifier when I can. Or I use the true skill class to get points panzershrek 2.25x c96 1.5x with shovel 3x. Panzy should be almost 3x with sniper rifles being 1.25x imo _________________

i sugest the flag points should be lowered to 2 or 3 pts, 6 is wayyyy tooo much, it doesnt take much skill to sprint to flags. OH and I also would like to know who came up with the formula for the points accumulation. I say why dont we all formulate a new formula for the points modifier, that would make the majority of players very hhapy. so those in favor post a mesage saying why yes, or why it should remain the same. _________________ You go Bye Bye... |

OK New Formula
Capping Flag = 1 pt
Killing with rifle = 1 pt
Killing with nade = 1 pt
Suicide nade = 5 pts
Rushing round corner, dying under a hail of bullets thus letting your colleagues see where the enemy are = 15 pts
Camping = -1 pt per minute of staying in the one spot ha ha
OK OK maybe it won't work....sure would help my game though!
Any other suggestions.... lol? |
