The New Horizons probe lifted off from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 2 p.m., quickly reaching speeds of 36,000 mph, nearly 100 times faster than a jetliner.
36000mph, thats fast !!!
WTG Lerris & NASA! Good thing we have a villian in the bunch to keep em straight down there at NASA. _________________

well....even with new things learned, what is it really going to profit us, other than stroking our ego's and adding a page in our science books. I think it is interesting and fascinating as hell that we can do that stuff. BUt you have to do that opportunity cost thing.

Meh, no money is spent lightly in the interest of science.
If it furthers an understanding of our galexy, I believe it's worth it.
And furthermore, I dont mind spending my tax dollars on it.

could still be a waste of your money 10 years is an hell of a long mission and space as an habit of been a little unpredictable, if it gets there things could still go tits up when they try to boot up the things it needs to do its job...... so as the english saying goes "Dont count your chickens before they hatch" _________________ Wouldn't You Like To Be A Vicious Orange Carrot Too?
