Found this site that has authentic color pictures of WWI! I've seen plenty of B&Ws before but the color somehow makes it look like you've really stepped back in time. Nothing gruesome, just period pics of soldiers, trenches, and what daily life looked like just feet behind the resistance line.

Yeah, I watched a program about things like that recently (within a year or so), with actual living vets. That shocked me more than anything else. _________________

The BBC did a wonderful TV series about 2 years back where they'd taken wwi archive video footage and added colour to it. The results were utterly amazing. I can't remember what it was called but I highly recommend looking it up. _________________ Most evil admin around.

Can I let you guys in on a secret promise not to get mad. Almost all the footage of world war I and world war II was shot on color film. The government only figuring they would use it for training and what not oppted to save money and process the film into black and white, color developer was a very extensive process, much more expensive than simple black and white.
Look it up, total truth...man when I heard that I was pissed, its like who was the cheap a$$ that green lighted that? You can put a price on history like that, the OG reality TV shows. |
