Dog1 is simply amazing. If youve seen saving private ryan, this level is almost out of the movie.

Can anyone HELP me?

Hey Blue I was having the same problem last night, Its a known video driver Issue. Have yo noticed that it would CTD when you would only go to certain points in the map? that was my problem. I downloaded the newest drivers for my Geforce MX400 and changed DOD to work in Direct3d which sucks, but did fix the problem. here are some links to some topics on the main DOD webpage support forum for you to try out. let me know if this helps.

Just to further add the Saving Private Ryan influence on this version of DoD
Go on the map thunder as allies, in the rear of the spawn, is a tank.
Stand next to it and listen.
Sounds familiar doesn't it?

I hope they make a good open field map soon, kind of like in Saving Private Ryan where they take on the tank crew, or one where you have to take out an Axis radar station.
On a side note:
It's really cool for me to play maps like Dog1 because that's what my Grandpa did. He was a Captain in the army and was part of the invasion of Omaha or Utah beach, I don't know for sure which. Anyway, he was the only officer from his battalion to survive. He had a sergeant and 6 enlisted men make it. Eventually he worked his way into France and was captured by the Germans. He was taken to the edge of a forest, and as he was going to be executed, artillery fire started going off and my grandpa ran for the woods. He hooked back up with an another company and went back in towards Germany. He was in rural Germany when he was hit with grenade shrapnel and lost his left elbow. He ended up with 2 bullets in his left hand and wrist. When he was sent back stateside, he met my grandma. She was an Army nurse at the hospital he was in. One thing lead to another... He died in 98 of cancer, so...if you have a living relative who served in WWII, ask them to tell their story to you, you never know what incredible things they lived through. Don't let those stories die with them.

My grandfather, who unfortunately died last year, wasn't in the D-Day operation itself, but was on D-Day plus 10 (or thereabouts - I forget exactly when).
He was in HQ 12th Battalion, The Kings Royal Rifle Corps.
Told me a lot of stories when I was younger, some of them highly amusing (his landing on normandy is particularly good - will relay it if asked, though it'll take ages to type) went all round europe, France, Belgium, Holland and eventually Germany.
Met my grandmother in germany just as the conflict ended and they moved back to the Uk together.

Never found out if he actually was in combat - I seem to recall asking at a very young age (6 or so) if he'd killed anyone during it but he said no. Chances are he probably said that to protect me/not re-live all that again. Doubt I ever will find out.

Anyhoo a few years ago (approaching 50th anniversary of D-Day) he found a briefcase in the attic containing all the letters he wrote to his mother while he was away. After showing them to several friends who were in the war with him they persuaded him to collate them in to a small booklet/book. If you want a copy wander along to http://www.amazon.co.uk (has to be .co.uk I'm afraid, .com ain't got it listed)
And search for "Letters from Normandy and Beyond" by Bernard Godfrey.
It costs £5 and the proceeds from the book went/go to local hospice (who looked after him in his final days).

Chances are you'll have to wait a long while for amazon to get ahold of the book...if they can. A limited number was printed but I believe the publisher prints on request...
*shrugs*
Anyway it's a damn good read...mind you I am kinda biased

My GrandUncle was first in North Africa before being shipped to England to take part in D-Day. He is still alive. Also he refuses to speak of WWII to this day.
