Another upshot to being a medic is that you get one of the guys (remember 2fort) that sit in the respawn untill one of the guys his team becomes a medic and heals him. That way up to 1/2 of the spawning team is already infected.

the reason to be a medic without infecting is because they are fast and the best class with the double shotty IMHO. also medics are great at capping cuz of their speed conc jumping and they can kill people cuz they have grenades, unlike a scout. that being said...medic shouldn't ignore their ability to infect and should be able to balance infecting and killing. |

I agree with ya. I guess its cause I play medic on avanti alot and I'm talking about defensive strategies. On offense Ill get try to get past the defense then come back and health up my team unless I got killed. Casbah I mainly health ppl up, and go for caps. Pretty much dont try to kill of infect unless they are in my path to the cap. I guess my point is its dependant on each map on how a class should or at least how I play each class based on the map.

I said ColdStone did not infect me, not that they should not infect. I also said a medic would not be a weak class if the person did not infect. Never did I say all medic should not unfect or that infecting was a bad thing. They should infect but they should not just infect and nothing else. That is my point ppl that do nothing but JUST INFECT. I will say it again JUST INFECT.

Last time I looked you had to aim a RL and time it. holding down the fire button with a medpack and running takes no skill.

I infect first so you must die VERY quickly indeed.
What?

i guess i play medic a lot :/
i rarely pull out my medikit to use on the enemy team. the only time is when there is a hwguy in a very good spot, such as the pipe in well. i'd just conc him and infect him and end up dying. then wait till he dies and then go through the tunnel because it will be open.
if you're playing against a good team, they'll just kill themselves when they kill you and not spread infection, so it's usually useless to mass-infect, but it's good to single out an enemy. Medics are primarily used for their speed, concs and grenades for sg-killing, not for their infection abilities. i know that this is a pub, but this is what i see most in competitive clan matches

Dreadvile, I'm not sure what you got up your butt, but whatever it is you should remove it before you sit down to write posts.
The only thing that takes "no skill" is writing this type of post. You replied to my 1st response and got rude and used lots of exclamation points. This isn't the way I picture you usually. It sure isn't the way I was raised to treat people.
So you have a point. Medics who do nothing but infect are lame in your opinion. And I suppose HW are pussies and whatever class you don't play or where someone plays differently than you is Lame. Right ? Heard it all before. Nothing new here except the person spewing forth the trash.
If you have a problem I suggest you work it out or get some help or something, but don't start trying to start fights in the forums. Never thought of you as rude before, but that is sure how you come off in this thread ! TFC is about having fun, why don't you go do that. |

Now I have played medic couple of times and it has many strong qualities. For defense it can heal teammates, infect the spy because if you're curing every teammate that passes you to get health or ammor you can kill the spy, if enemy is all bunch together throw one of the meds special so they can't shoot straight, then throw grenades. On offense they can fly using their special grenades that I can't seem to master, infect enemy team (infect best engies, snipers, and Hws), also they are great at capturing flag(many good medics I've seen can get the flag easily), and they are very fast and are hard to be killed.
I agree, that medics are the best to have on every team because if you don't have a medic you're screwed. Also, it will suck being a medic when you're team doesn't help you out. Been a medic and my team never helped me out at any time. I heal them, I get killed, but they survived. I got killed so many times, but were able to infect and heal my team. I know I'm at least using 50% or more of the medical skills. |

Why do ppl think I get mad when I post? This game and this Msg board could not get me steamed. I won't post on this one anymore I made myself as clear as I can, I guess. Btw DAD no I don't think any class is lame cause I don't play it. Also I can play any class but Sniper (can't get used to it). Thank you drive thru.

I think all classes require no skill with the exception of one. The Civilian! Killing someone with an umbrella? Now that's freaking skill!

Beyond infections, healing and the other qualities listed above... medics are in my experience, the most suitable class for taking out SG's. I couldn't find my stats page Dread, but I would suspect that 1 in 3 of my kills is an SG. However, given that in your eyes, my skill is limited to the simple act of infections, I will shoot you with the super shotgun next time I see you. |

If you watch Tink play medic you will see a well rounded player. She uses a lot of tricks to stay at the front line and get the flag capped. Not to mention keeping her own team alive and showing a great team oriented gamemanship.
I love playing with her and hate when I have to be on the oppossing team cause I know I'm going to have to pay for all the things I did to her as a kid!
Dread and Cyco...relax it seems that things can get blown out of porportion to fast. We still love you both. BHL |

The fun thing about the forums is we cannot see facial expressions or hear tone of voice. As we read we have to interpret what the other person's attitude, facial expressions, and tone of voice. Sometimes simple text can be misleading. Adding a face sometimes helps people understand what you meant. Anyway my 2 cents about medics. I really don't care what they do as long as they're busy. If I'm in a spot where I would die quickly trying to infect I will stay back and heal people. Healing greatly helps your team, saving people a hike from respawn gives the enemy a lower chance of advancing. But if I'm in a spot where I have some room to run I will go infect crazy. Disease is one of the biggest distractions in the game. Or I will run around like a mad man spamming my medkit. If you get in my way I will heal/infect you and move on. Like I said earlier, as long as medics are busy they are helping in one way or another. |

i agree that infecting is ONE of the tools a medic has to use and a very valuable one. Although the medic that attempts to use ONLY his medkit is well.... a dead medic. I know your all gonna say I'm an asshole for this but if I get infected and there's no medic around I will suicide everytime, I have no desire to sit around and wait to die and furthermore I'm not going to be a llama going around and infecting everyone else.
