I dont know if this is true with everyone but during frantic keyboarding i occasionally press that damn "windows" key and i go to desktop and get the "start" menu, then when i jump back to the game i have no sound. Video is fine. I must exit game and restart to get sound back. Running WinME and a SB Live. Any thoughts? |

Ive had the loss of sound also, when it happens just hit escape to go to the menu (not console) and click on resume and your sound will come back. Let me know if this helps

Im not sure but Is there a way to deactivate those keys ??
They will ruin a post. I can't begin to express the pain as your in depth post disappears into the ether. Rewritting is just not fun for some reason. |

Sure Roof, to disable them just remove them from your keyboard. I have also removed the sleep and shut down keys from my keyboard along with the windows keys
I've found that doing a resume restores sound 90 percent of the time. |

Sound vanishes if, for any reason, the Halflife window minimizes WHILE a game is on screen. If you hit escape, then minimize, then come back and resume, its fine... course that doesnt help with stupid mr windo key but o well |
