Why is this map on the rotation? It baffles me. Nobody has it, so one person can just snipe away at the other 2 or 3 players that do have it and never touch the ball. Badlands was more of a teamplay map than that.

Slowly everyone will get it, then they will see how much fun it is. It is a teamplay map, but it needs players to happen.

It will happen.

Frag loves Murderball eh? get 16 people with 4 on each team and it's a blast. You have to form alliances with other teams to get the ball back.

Rob sez that he is limiting 1 sniper per team. I agree with this decision except for the fact that there are 4 teams which means 3 snipers will be hunting you at any one time. I myself will just switch to another server when I see this map come up in rotation because this IS a sniper map. Way too much open space for this map to be balanced for all classes. You can forget about being an offensive HW or Soldier on this map. At least in Badlands you have enough time to get away before a sniper can charge another round if he misses you the first time. In Murderball, a sniper will have a least 4 shots on you before you can leave your base, get the ball and return. Perhaps some more playtesting on maps like Maya or Osaka as they are more like the CP type maps such as Avanti and Warpath. For that matter, Flagrun is not bad because it blends offence and defence very well.

On another note, is Greebo's and cstone's Breakout in rotation? I haven't seen it yet.

Breakout ain't gone for final release yet, still developing it
So it shouldn't really go into rotation until it's actually finished.

Sorry Greebs, now I remember reading about that some time ago. Hope all is coming along well with the map. The only time I ever played it, I ran around it by myself but it looked pretty cool. Keep up the good work

Badlands, in my opinion is a terrible map. Its a rocket/emp/whatever jumpers paradise. The flag is too tucked away, easily guarded by many sg's and the map is too large. You need at least a full roster for this to be remotely good. Even then by the time a player attempts to retreive the flag he has no health remaining, let alone a chance to return victoriously with it.
I haven't played murderball yet, but I am relieved to see that badlands is off of the rotation.
I'm sure everyone has different opinions on different maps.. just my 0.02

Well after playing murderball with about 10 people the other night I was expecting the worst. But I found it is a fun map with lots of excitement. The snipers will get you but I found that the snipers find it hard to prey to much on the field with the other snipers picking each other off. The bad news is your going to die a lot anyway so stats junkies will most likely run to another game but for the rest of us OR for me at least I'm going to keep playing. One thing that does suck is if there aren't enough people to properly man the map. Than you can't get lost in the numbers. OF course this is based on one game play and I reserve the right to scream bloody murder later

When TV 4 comes up I think we should introduce an all custom rotation. Just Wrath, Acropolis, Breakout, and perhaps a couple others that have been floating around. Since less people have these maps it would be a place where the regulars could go without llama interference. Sounds tempting, eh? Oh, and about Murderball, if there was a way to cause mirror damage against enemy players (except the ones with the ball of course) i think it would be a great map. But no one gets the rules, and it get way out of control too fast.

On a side note, I just realized this was my 51st post. Woohoo....no more noob. Quite a jump to pro huh?

I agree with twisted about murderball. Snipers have a big advantage if they are used properly even if there is only one. If tv 4 would include custom maps, why not run wrath, acropolis2, maya, murderball, breakout2, and turkeyburgers? The only problem is people would hop onto the server and suck up bandwidth DLing the maps they don't have.

Murderball is a fun map in my opinion. It'll take a while to get the feel of how to play and all, but once everyone does it should be some fun times. As for snipers owning the map, that really isn't true once everyone gets the hang of it. Remember, they have to watch out for other snipers and spies and any number of other things. As for dying a lot...yup, that's gonna happen here so the stats junkies will leave. So we'll be left with (in theory) a bunch of people who aren't afraid to die. So far all I'm seeing is good points

I played a crowbar match on murderball with frag, degener8 and a few others the other night and had quite a blast. This is a very good map for things like this. It would also be very interesting for a 4 way clan match. I may end up changing my opinion of this map over time.

Of all the maps I have played with people, this is the only one in which more than 2/3 of them agree sux because of sniping. I think sticking to the traditional red vs. blue works better because the map boils down to indescriminate killing and it really sux.

I think that acropolis2 should take it's place on the rotation of TV2. If a team can work together on that map, they can pretty much own it. Also, the large field in the middle makes for some awesome 1v1 encounters.
