I think he's referring to the "Helping" additions that XP has.

Yeah, those helping tips are annoying as hell. I am not an idiot, I know how to open an window and do something with it. Can't seem to find the way to turn it off, so I just uninstall the whole thing.

But since Rob is in charge of the server and the program it uses, I would really like to hear from him. so what can I do, Mayor Rob?

If XP is for preschoolers then why do so many people have probs with it! I turned the help off immediately after install. It gave me the option to turn it off so I did. Hope you can get things working Omega.

i didn't say it's for pre-schoolers. It's just that there is too many other fancy unnecessary stuff. I did turn them off. But there are still some that I can't turn off. And the worst thing is that my video card doesn't work well even after I dl the XP driver. It was just a whole lot of mess.

I'm not a XP user but I have installed and played with it on some clients computers. You should prolly go to the add/remove programs section in your control panel. Switch to windows programs and uncheck all the box's you dont want running.

Hey Omega. Doesn't seem like your getting your question answered. The cheating death may be causing.it. I read on one of the mod sites that you cannot play the mod with cheating death installed. I do not know if TFC would have the same problem though. Sounds like something that was installed in Counterstrike. The anticheat program they have running scans your entire Halflife directory, since that was the only thing you did before this happened. Maybe it sees something it doesn't like. I don't think the changing OS's did anything. If you can't find anything wrong in the directories, you may just want to uninstall and reinstall Halflife. Unless you already did that of course. I don't know if your registry got hammered in some way or another.

Omega, If you have not by now did a fresh format I suggest that you do. I think win98se
is your best bet for gaming. As for the other
OS's go, I have had nothing but BS from WinMe.

Don't know about the rest of the operating systems out since I have yet to use anything else.
