Looking about on NewEgg for my new vid card, i'm probably buying THIS ONE. Opinions?

Also, whats the differnce in the Kinston Hyper X and regular Kingston ?? All i'm really seeing is the heat spreader. Does it really help the ram preform?? I'm probably just getting this

Might look at something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102542

Memory can't go wrong with Corsair .

Here's my opinion!!!

It depend of what kind of computer do you have (CPU) and what are you doing with it!!! Are you doing some video editing or multimedia stuff or you are just a hard core gamer!!!

If you're only playing game, you don't need the "All in Wonder". All in wonders" card are card that are built and adapted for total multimedia entertainment! That mean that you are paying (or you will pay) for a lot of stuff (cable, video decoder, TV-in/TV-out, etc...) that you dont really need (remember, that's true if you only play game on your computer). Otherwise, you maybe need an "All in Wonder".

Second, from what I saw on the Web, This card is only an Ati 9600!!! That is not the best card for TODAYS game!!! Personnaly, I would not go under the 9800pro for playing big game like HL2 or D3!!! Yeah, you'll be able to play those game with that card (9600) but probably at lower resolution or image quality (and at how many FPS... )!!!

Third, that's only an opinion, everybody has the right to disagree with me, but I've always said that I prefer a better 128Mb card than a lower quality 256Mb. 128Mb in vid. card are not a limiting factor in TODAYS game. Watch ANY benchmark comparing 128Mb and 256Mb cards and you'll see that the FPS gain with a 256Mb is very small versus the 128Mb. That is why I still prefer for now buying a better quality 128Mb card! Have you look for a "straight" 9800pro (not All in Wonder)??? Or maybe a 6600GT!!! Those are in your price range and are way better than a 9600!!! Maybe you can take a look at the 6800 too!!!

My preference is the 6600gt 128Mb. First, because it is what I have , second because it is the best ratio price/performance on the market!!! I played HL2 AND D3 with it at max setting for both!!!

On that... Good shopping!!!

i remember hearing a while ago that they modified thier chips and were unreliable.

posting your price range, processor, and wattage on your power supply will help people find you a new vid card.

simpleman, that ram is pretty expensive, this looks like it would do nicely

Cmon Stevo!!! Be objective only one time in your life!!!

6600GT outperformed 9800pro in 95% of every benchmark!!!

Admit it, 9800pro suck, and especially the one that you owned!!!

Seriously, this is a good card, but I still prefer my 6600GT!!!

Yeah exactly!!! BFG are very good card but they are a little bit more expensive than other brand!!! Why??? Simply because they overclock the core and memory speed compare to other brand (MSI, eVGA, ASUS, etc...) AND (I think), a lifetime warranty. (But hey, do we REALLY need a lifetime warranty for a Vidcard).

Personnally, this is what I have (MSI)!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127150

You can have it for 155$ (185$ plus a $30.00 Mail-In Rebate)!!! Not too bad!!!

The core/memory speed are slightly lower at stock speed than other brand (I think it is 500/900mhz). but this isn't a big deal since you can easily OC those card by a simple click of a mouse with DOT express (6 scales Dynamic Overclocking Performance). This allow you to easily increase your core/memory speed up to 10% (Overclocking Speeds are MSI Stability Guarantee).

You can take a look at this review comparing different 6600gt!!

http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20050404/index.html

You'll see that MSI is not the fastest (in reason of the lowest stock clock speed) but for 155$, this is a pretty good card for that price (a looooooooooooooot better then your 9600 that you was expecting to buy at 177$).

They recommend the Gigabyte GV-NX66T128VP in this review!!! But I think that is a PCI card!!! Have to look!!! Maybe you can check other brand a little more expensive (faster) since you was ready to pay up to 177$ for the previous one!!! But remember, faster doesn't always mean better!!! You'll have to care about stability, cooling AND noise too!!!

Again, good shopping!!!
