Hey Guys,
I recently downloaded DOD source from steam and had the updates installed. I'm running XP Pro and I'm getting that filesystem_steam.dll error when trying to launch dod source and hl2.exe just terminates. I noticed that a bunch of people are still able to play on theville I, is there a resolution to this problem that I am unaware of?
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance. |

This was posted by DougV from Valve over at the steam forums about the error. You are not alone with this error, they did not say anything about updating xp though.

Sorry that I have been absent the last few days...I had a family emergency and am not in the office.
Quick update:
A fix for the problems with Windows 98 / ME (filesystem_steam.dll error) is coming (Monday).
Lag / Low FPS - If you are still having problems with this, can you please try disabling the HDR option (Options -> Video-> Advanced -> HDR -> None) and let me know if the problem gets better. Also you can try reducing the DX level (try turning off HDR first).
