Preach it brother. Many college students could not pass this test today. That shows the state of our society.

Clearly a few of the questions reflect terminology that had been specifically taught to them during their years in school.

P.S. Clearly from an era where farming was the primary industry of the community. I wonder how many people know how many gallons there are in a bushel ---------------------------------> 8 dry gallons (US bushel) [beware a dry gallon (4.405 liters) is not a fluid gallon (3.785 liters) - DOH]

Thank god for math...

Pretty cool I kant evan beken 2 understand hour skools can kall it a edumacation thiefs dais

You know, I dont think it is that teachers can't teach. I think it is that no one can grade that test.

So what we get is a a or b or c or d test style that does not require education to answer properly. Just memorization of facts.

Except for the orthography portion of the test I would have easily aced it even in 8th grade. Orthography seems pretty trivial and useless 100 years later.

The sad thing is that I learned all of that in my k-8 school, but forgot it due to lack of use of the information during high school and college. No one NEEDS to know a large portion of the answers for that test (no application for the knowledge in the working world, unless you are in a specialized field).
