they had a list of the 20 greatest bands of all time when I was driving home from the airport today.... number 5 = Journey number 12 = Metallica and there was no Pink Floyd, no Black Sabbath.... was... interesting. I don't remember what was number one though... maybe I can find their list somewhere. _________________

. . .
I'm sorry but the people who made that list deserve to be taken out and beaten profusely.
Journey #5? No way in hell.
Metallica #12? No way in hell.
Pink Floyd not even listed? WTF?
Their revised top 5 should be the following:
1.) Beatles
2.) Rolling Stones
3.) Pink Floyd
4.) Led Zepplin
5.) The Who
or it should at least contain those 5, because in terms of record sales and popularity, they WERE the best(and in my humble opinion, Pink Floyd IS the best).
Other candidates for the next 15 include(in no particular order): The Eagles(this includes Joe Walsh's solo stuff), Jimmi Hendrix, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Lynard Skynard, Queen, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Doobie Brothers, Ted Nugent, Ozzy Ozbourne, Boston, Guns & Roses.
And then the honorable mentions should include people like Nirvana, Metallica, Niel Young, REM, U2, and other more modern stuff.
Their list is FUBAR, dunno what they are talkin about.
