Any tips for a returning DoD player?

It's been a while since I really played DoD (was playing another mod with a Ville clan). I've started playing again recently and I'm holding my own but not really doing great. I was wondering if some of the more experienced players have some advice on how to get back into the game and start doing ok.

Hiya spook good to see you in the forums.

I’ve noticed you seem to be having problems hitting people. #2gunfire

You might want to see if your rates are set correctly.
Type net_graph 3 in console and make sure you are not getting any choke.
If you are, try to adjust your Rate, cl_updaterate and your cl_cmdrate.
Also just relax and have fun. Don’t worry about your stats.

You can do what I do, run around while shooting randomly and tossing grenades everywhere. Seems to work most of the time. #2gunfire

1. Don't stick your headup when someone is shooting at you.

2. Don't be on the oppisite team of Squirrel he hacks.

3. Don't jump so high when you feel someone pinching your arse, it's only Stutter getting fresh with you.

The smaller SMGs are a little easier to shoot than rifles for a beginner so to get back in the swing of DoD use the mp40 or the tommy gun.

If ur pinned down by an mg, ask me to snipe him out. If ur pinned down by Squirrel, ur on your own!

But really, make it into a team game, cuz that's what it is supposed to be. Request backup from your teammates, sometimes even noobs come through for you. Coordinate your attacks.

But yeah, a lot of other people gave you really good advice too. Just keep on practicing, see what everyone else is doing. You'll get back into it.
