Why is it that when I'm specing a player that I suspect is hacking, 90% of the time they do this thing where they switch between primary gun, and pistol/nade for no apparent reason? They may or may not be hacking, but it seems to be a telltale sign of a player who knows the ins and outs of how to play DoD.. what do they know that I don't? _________________ Support wildlife. I always thought they were just getting ready to switch weapons at any given moment with fastswitch on. Or maybe its just a nervous habit. I dunno, I dont do it. _________________ =(M)-(M)= Mal n the m00bs - TVC 06 finalists

With the snipers it’s called pistol rolling.
It cuts out the animation of the bolt in action. A lot of people think it’s an exploit.
I don’t snipe so I’m not sure if it’s an advantage or not _________________

I do it just outta habit sometimes. Its normally when I first spawn I will do it for awhile. I would not call it a sign of hacking though.. _________________

well, it doesn't make you be able to shoot the sniper rifle and faster thast way, because it still won't let you shoot even if the animation isn't playing. it will let you be ready with your pistol for some immediate close quarter combat. The gun switch back and forth very vast is just a habit of alot of cs players, chances are they just play cs and picked up that habbit. _________________ R.I.P. Blue |

I know I do it to reset the "last weapon used". I like to toggle back an forth between two weapons, the primary and one other, and I often switch the 'one other' to fit any given situation. It is a habit that makes me feel like I am prepared for what waits around the corner ...
...of course that darn sniper usually pops me before I get to the corner anyway. _________________

I do it sometimes.. habit I picked up from NS... has a habit of getting me killed in dod, least in ns i got to hear the attacking skulks/rines... now everyone sounds the same.
Not sure if it is something they also picked up from other games or what not... good luck though. _________________

it is. if u have a gun with bolt action and u shoot, ur supposed to wait for the bolt to be pulled back and w/e. if u switch to pistol and switch back it doesnt do the anim, and its all ready to fire again in 1/2 the time. _________________ so... how u doin? |

Sometimes I'll switch weapons so when I hit the lastinv button, it will be the weapon I want. Like it I want to shovel a lot of people I'll switch to the shovel and then back to the primary weapon. Or people could just be cycling through the weapons with the wheel with fastswitch on. _________________
