My daily driver is an 89 Camaro. I also own:
1972 Chevelle
1989 Firebird (300 hp engine, omg wow...)
86 transam (waiting for 350 TPI)
1987 Monte Carlo SS
Old pic of monte, the license plates now read FLMONTE
I get some pics of the others soon, hopefully.

It's great, I love it. I drove some other cars in the price range--Civic Si, Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart--and the Mazda was head and shoulders above that competition. The manual transmission is great, I can't imagine anyone getting the automatic but if they do at least it has a setting where you can do each shift manually, though you're limited to 4 speeds and lose some MPG. Every magazine gives it impressive marks, and in a recent comparison it beat a Ford Focus, Toyota Corolla XRS, some Kia, and the new Chevy Cobalt.
A non-driving complaint about it is the AC is on the weak side--I can't really recommend this car to anyone who lives in an area that regularly sees temps of 95+ because at around 90 it takes the AC on max about 3 minutes to get the car to reasonably cool, and maybe another 2-3 minutes before you think of taking it off max. Other complaints... the plastic shows scuffs easier than some, but if you clean it with a quality protectant that helps keep them from happening. Also, if you live in an area where there's alot of gravel on the roads (like I do) there's a spot on the rear of the car where you should have protectant film put in, or the paint chips. That's not alot of compliants for a car, in my opinion.
If you're interested in reading some "real" reviews:

My digital camera is broke but to get a hint, it's like Mulder's car.
With the exception of mine being a Red coupe and different 5-spoke rims. |
