According to Mike Reiss, most of the senior staff members have been wanting to do a film as far back as Season Two, and apparently FOX has been gung-ho on the idea for a lengthy period of time. Writers recently signed contracts with Fox and a storyline is currently being developed but has not yet been revealed. Matt Groening, James Brooks, Al Jean, Mike Reiss, George Meyer, Mike Scully and David Mirkin are all reportedly involved in the project.
At this point, it is much too early to speculate on any possible timetable surrounding the production and release of the film, but writers have stated it will be "a couple of years away."

So, maybe that will be done... but seriously I hope not. If that go near what South Park as done, that will be horrible compare to the normal TV episode.
But this is not were I'm going with this thread. This movie will be a animation movie. But let imagine that it will be a "real" one.
Who do you think could play who? Don't have to be a actor, just a human!
For example:
David Letterman as The Professor John Frink
 
Michael Moore as Dr. Marvin Monroe
 
Eddie Murphy as Carl Carlson
 
Napoleon Dynamite as Disco Stu

I have never watched The Simpsons....
I think they should include a special on the Numa Numa man, Mr. Jfet himself!!

Anyway, it would be interesting to see a movie, but it would probably be much different than the series, though.

making a movie out of a tv seriers usually doesn't turn out too well, except for bevis and butthead do america. im shure they'll put alot of thought into it though. i think it will be a cartoon movie, but i might have missed some thing about actors when reading that.

I just wanted to ask all of you, who do you think could play any Simpsons characters in a funny way...
I like my ideal of Napoleon Dynamite doing Disco Stu... 
Any more suggestion?
