Here's the deal, I ask your opinions on the following 10 posters:
[edit by jfet]
posters moved here: -=-=-=-> http://users.theville.org/jfet/5th/
[/edit]
Yes, I know they're .pdf, but that's the best way to keep the quality from Adobe Illustrator.
-The letter's supposed to be the first read in the poster,
-name second,
-font name and year created third,
-alphabet fourth,
-and biography last.
I'm really wanting to know if anyone looks wrong or doesn't seem right. _________________ http://www.chronixradio.com

Yeah, each one does wind up looking different as a hard copy from the .pdf file, but just that the colors are more vivid. Otherwise, it prints out to the 11" x 17" that it's saved as.
Wonder if anyone not in graphic design understands them, though? _________________ http://www.chronixradio.com |

I have a degree in graphic design too, so I can see what you going with this.
What I can tell you is just watch to not use too much guideline for your text, if that was a part of the assignment. With the page format you are using I suggest to not go over 4 guidelines. If you choose too much, the readers eye will be lost and won't follow a certain path.
As for this first, second, third things... that look good, but remember that it's not only the size of the letters that will attract the eye. It can easily be the color. You just have to use them carefully, like black is the definite eye catcher in most of your work. A good trick is to step way back of your screen and maybe to just mid-close your eye and see how it look... Because if you were limited to duotone, that means that you could use grey too and make the color popup more...
For the Futura, what could look really cool is the drop down the size of both "J" and just stick both end together in the middle (like a long "S") and work around that...
But I really love what you have done here... I'm just giving you some ideal and some things too look for... Nice Job EG _________________
