Hey guys, just wondering what rates should we have set for the ville servers? I'm using Comcast cable and currently have my rate at 10000, cl_update rate 60 and cl_cmdrate 100. I do notice some choke and my hitboxes seem off at times. Does anyone have any better suggestions with my rates?

Hiya deebo
It’s an ancient Chinese secret.
I think your rates all depend on your connection and machine.
I set my rate to 20,000 and my other rates are close to what you have.
Just a little higher on the cl_update rate. _________________

This game takes little resources compared to games like Battlefield 1942 and stuff so i have mine pretty high, and you should go to settings and check for the best refresh rate for your monitor, mine is like 70 to 72 and they differ quite a bit _________________

Hey squirrel! Thanks for the reply guys, I never understood how rates work and I thought the server limits how much you set the rates at. But I'll try upping the rates a little bit to see if it helps. was also wondering how the ex_interp rate affects hitboxes. I have mine set at .1 because anything lower makes everyon jumpy.
Also does playing on an LCD make a huge difference? I ask because it only allows me to set my refresh rate to 60. Anyway, thanks for the help. :D

Yeah I use
rate 25000
cl_updatereate 101
cl_cmdrate 101
Best to start high and work your way back by multiples of 5. Sometimes when there is alot of traffic you might have to dop the updaterate and cmdrate to 60.
My upload is 483kbps and download is 2.7mbps so you might have to mess with them to match your connection . _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

cl_rate "9999"
rate "9999"
cl_resend 3
cl_cmdbackup 2
cl_updaterate "40"
cl_cmdrate "40"
Some people say higher rate higher rate but with higher rates you get choke more often than not Try these they are $ no lag,no choke, and a good steady ping _________________
