Well I remember reading somewhere that the 6600 has had some issues with the heat sinks that can cause some problems maybe google "6600gt issues problems" and see what comes up.
You should also uninstall all video drivers then reinstall the 6600 drivers. If that doesn't work then uninstall the drivers againn and reinstall the driver version prior to the version your using. _________________

I am trying to understand. Your computer looks fine, until you take a screenshot and then this is what you get? Or, this is what your screen looks like on boot? If it is on boot, it almost looks like a resolution your card doesn't support type of thing. Boot into safe mode, uninstall drivers and change it to standard vga then.......... re-install drivers. Make sure you have the latest chipset/agp drivers installed for your mobo, along with the latest bios. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

You mean you didn't uninstall your old drivers before installing the new card? Did you even read the installation guide? |

like everyone else said, you gotta uninstall your old drivers then reboot, and install the new ones...
download a program called, "DH Driver Cleaner", it will make sure 100% all of the old drivers are gone, watch out tho, that when you select the nvidia list , that you only delete the display, and not chipset and others...
another thing, just because its the latest, doesnt mean its the greatest, when i got my 6600GT, i went through 4 drivers before i found a good one, and its 76.45... thats the best i found for CS-S....
Hope that helps, good luck |
