Something about Deathwing sounded familiar, which is why I started there.... I vaguely remembered this thread and decided to go reread it since I started playing.... so its pretty cool you guys are on the same server. Everyone still active and enjoying the game?
We're still low level, but its a really cool game, and I hope to level up at a decent rate. Anyone have any hints or suggestions when first starting the game? Seems to be pretty newbie friendly. Reminds me a lot of EQ.... but better. |
Excellent
I play under the name Silverone and Silvertrance now. More Silvertrance since I switched to a dwarf priest.
I will look you up soon. If you are not guilded we will get you in the guild with some of us here. |
SilverOne needs to get his butt online and level his character some. Ol' Fraggie (Chrissis) is at 47 now. You also missed a great raid Tarren Mill. 20 Alliance took out all the horde, guards and NPC's. _________________ Yes, I'm still around

Ooooh, I'm 19 now.... soon I will be able to group w/ you, Silver! That is, as long as the servers are up long enough to actually get some game time in. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

I just picked up the game and finally got it installed. I am downloading the patches as I type this. My account name is pretty obvious - BRN _________________

Doesn't world of warcraft cost like 10 bucks a month to play online or something like that. I have never played world of warcraft so is it like starcraft? _________________

If you pay month to month it is $15 a month. You can pay for 3 months or 6 months with reduced monthly costs. _________________

Do you have to pay for playing single player? Or is it only multiplayer? _________________

Ok it seems like alot of you are getting into this game so I have been contemplating on getting it. I have never played a online RPG, but I have played some things like Final Fantasy and Knight of the Old Republic. So I have some questions.
1. Is it really complicated?
2. Is the community good or are there alot of jerks?
3. Can you fight each other or only NPCs?
4. Is it hard when you are just starting out?
5. Is the monthly payment worth it?
I think thats it. _________________

Hey, here I am from the Bleeding Hollow (about in the middle of that line), most populated PvP server with over 30,000 players second only to SilverHand for most populated server...no I don't lag, I get a 50 ping usually...In that picture we were lining up in Orgrimmar to go attack Ironforge! Yes! And kill all those Alliance standing around playing WoW: Auction Hall Simulator
Me and my brother, Rata-Tat-Tat are Mortibund and Fogar there on Bleeding Hollow (Undead and Orc), and our Alliance are on DeathWing as Bazoozoo and BeergutMcGee (Dwarves with Guns of course)
Yes I think the $15 a month is worth it, The only negative thing about the game is that it is so popular and addictive sometimes you have to wait in qeue to get into a server at peak hours on the high capacity high population servers.......I suggest you go PvP anyway, it's much more fun.
And Alliance raiding Terran Mill, ppfftt. The Horde took Stormwind City and held it, killed all the NPCs and flagged players and the Alliance didn't even fight back.[/img] _________________ World of Warcraft:

I guess nobody wants to answer my questions.
Anyway, I just thought of another one: What happens when you die in the game? _________________

It can get complicated from all the equipment that you have and choosing your abilities, talents and profession, but you get used to it. It is no more complicated than Everquest.
Cpt. Caveman wrote: | 2. Is the community good or are there alot of jerks? |
The only time that I have been mad at other players in the game is when high level enemy on PvP go hunting in low level areas.
Cpt. Caveman wrote: | 3. Can you fight each other or only NPCs?
|
There are specific servers for PvP (Player Versus player) or PvE (Player versus Enemy).
Cpt. Caveman wrote: | 4. Is it hard when you are just starting out? |
It is actually real easy starting out because you start in a special region for starting out. Also others can help you with your quests, so join a server with other friends.
Cpt. Caveman wrote: | 5. Is the monthly payment worth it? |
I found after playing for 3 months, that I wasnt playing it enough to pay for the service, but that price isnt bad for the quality of online game time that you get.

When you die, you get the choice of respawning at the grave yard, being rezzed by a local ally or walking back to your body and being rezzed there. If you rez at the graveyard you take from 10% to 25% damage to your equipment.
Even though I am no longer playing the game, I played 3 different characters. One to lvl 49, lvl 43 and lvl 26. SO you can ask me more questions if you want. _________________
